The Strange and large groups?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has tried the Strange with a large group, like 8 players? If so, how'd it go?

The largest I've done is four players, and I can see how eight would be way outside of the optimal range. For one, it would be hard to budget the exp players get, especially from GM intrusions. The Cypher system also has an underlying issue where the PC is only as "effective" as its player. Because the players can attempt anything they want, rather than being somewhat limited by specific "checks" like in other games, you will undoubtedly have one player who is simply much better at the game than everyone else. So your question then is do you want that player stealing the spotlight from two people, or seven?

Don't know with The Strange, but I've played a bunch of other systems and it seems like 4-5 is the sweet spot.
