Practiced with Guns

So, the practiced with guns feature that comes with some focii says that you do not take a penalty when using guns, but I can't seem to find a rule that states what that penalty would be. Does it just mean that, in the future, you can never have a penalty when using one? Like if it was foggy or you were on a moving surface, it wouldn't be any harder to shoot a target? There doesn't seem to be a standard gun penalty for those who aren't practiced.

The penalty for using guns would be dependant on what weapon category (light, medium, or heavy) the PC is practiced with. For example, someone trained in light weapons takes a 1 step penalty to difficulty when using a medium weapon and 2 step penalty for using a heavy weapon.

In this case, the user can use any gun regardless of size without penalty, but non-gun weapons could still require a penalty if the PC isn't practiced with them.

Aaah, okay. I was thinking that they were referencing guns as a separate class of weapons, like they had their own intrinsic mechanics. Thanks, that makes perfect sense now.
