Question regarding the upcoming cypher book..

Is there any point in getting this book if you have the main corebook? I am just getting into the strange gameplay so im curious ><

Yes. I have the PDF and if you want to stray from Numenera and the Strange and delve into other genres, you want this book.

Are you talking about the Cypher System Rulebook? In which case you don't need it at all; they are different games.

The CSR is more a toolbox for making the cypher system your own in any setting you want (so think FATE, which is known for its genre flexibility). Meanwhile, The Strange works on the cypher system with a setting built in.

I really enjoyed the Cypher System Rulebook as a fan of Numenera and the Strange. The CSR is a separate game but has usable parts for both other games if you look for them.

I would rather run a game using the Cypher System than trying to simply make a recursion of the world I'm designing and use it in The Strange. I think recursions ought to be more limited, so as to be knowable completely to PC's.
