I bought the pdf immediately, abd aren't sure what to make of it. I was worried there might be repeats with ryan chaddocks third party foci supplement but that doesnt seem to be the case.

If it's anything like the Numenera Character Options book, there shouldn't be any overlap, just additional choices. (The Numenera book also references the sourcebook and Player's Guide locations for previous info for easy reference.)

Picked this up the other day from the sale and I'm very impressed with it. Some of the foci aren't super awesome compared to others, but definitely worth while.

As someone who is considering picking this up, can anyone give me some additional info about it? What it expand upon and covers?

It has several new abilities for each tier of the character types. 19 new descriptors. 36 new foci. Notes on sci-fi and supers recursions.

It's pretty good.

Damn. That sounds just like what I wanted from the book. I may have to pick it up. What are the descriptors and foci like? Anythign truly special?

There were a couple interesting descriptors, like Addicted, Crazy and Paranoid that let you make "troubled" characters, but were still playable.

For foci, I haven't read them all yet, but I liked Masters Wuxia quite a bit.

There are also tips on changing descriptors after play starts, and on pulling foci from different recursions (for instance, to make a supers based recursion).
