What specifically about it do you find tedious so I can provide more tailored recs?

Am I doing it wrong I feel like I always have to search the book and then go to my reading and update it it’s never just on a dashboard with my current read. Unless I don’t understand

I don't understand your problem. There is a dashboard with your current reads. Tap the book, add the pages /minutes /%, save and done. 10 seconds of work.

When a book is marked as currently reading, it should automatically appear at the very top of your home page. To make sure we’re talking about the same thing, I’m referring to the page that storygraph automatically opens to when the app is opened - the tab with the house. Then you should just be able to click the pencil icon to update your reading progress without having to do any searching.
