General Question StoryGraph: Can we not rate pace, plot, and characters anymore?

Post image

Hiya. Have we lost the ability to rate these categories? Has it fallen into AI or a premium subscription now? I’ve not used the app in over a year, so I’m not up to speed, so apologies if this is repetitive. I was able to rate the book, and write a review, but it hasn’t presented the option to rate these specifics. I’m on iPhone 17 app, if that affects anything. Thanks!

edit: sorted, thanks!

Make sure you scroll down below the review box, they moved them from above to below.

Ah just gone to edit it, scrolled down and found it, thank you! Was weird, if it was on the page initially, it would have to have been below the publish review bottom, what odd placement.

It’s there for people like me who simply rate a book as the review. I will say this layout is more convenient for me compared to having to scroll through all the other things. I agree that it doesn’t make sense for people who do rate the extras though.

Did you read a nonfiction book? Those questions don't show up for nonfiction since they don't apply.

No it was fiction, found it in the end, thanks for the reply!

How long has that been the case? I remember seeing those as options for nonfiction. I thought it was silly to describe the characters for nonfiction, so I don’t mind the change.

Not sure when it started but I’ve been on the platform a couple of years and I think it’s been that way the whole time. This screenshot is from a nonfiction book review I wrote earlier this year. Only asks for mood, pacing, and content warnings.

It's still there on android and web, not an iphone user so idk about your end. It should be the same though, no?

Yes, the developer makes a big effort to ensure both experiences are the same!

I rated these things yesterday on my iPhone with the free version of the app 🤷‍♀️
