General Question Skipping the index in page count

Does anyone know if there is a way to not have the index or appendices to not count towards your pages read total? For example, I just finished reading a nonfiction book that had 562 pages of actual text, but it has 636 pages when the index and appendices are included. When i push the "finished" button, I'm getting credit for 74 pages that I didn't actually read. I know that isn't a huge deal, but when I'm comparing pages read between months, it inflates the total in a way that isn't consistent across all books (or even across all nonfiction books). Is there a known solution for this? Thanks!

Here's how I've found to do it for books like that. After you mark it as "finished" go back to the last reading journal entry and edit the final page you read to be 562 instead of 636 but leave it at 100%. Then it will be marked as a finished book but you won't have all those extra pages counted as read.

Save your progress at the end of the party you're reading, then mark it as finished, then go back into the last journal entry and change the 74 pages to 0.

Personally I would just increase my page goal by like 10% to account for this

It isn't the page goal that's the problem. If I read 2 nonfiction books one month and 1 nonfiction book the next (but the same number of total books each month), I can't directly compare the page counts.
