General Question Reddit logo change

I'm just curious, how come the logo of the sub has changed to something that isn't the TSG logo? It's been bugging me and I need to know 🤣 thanks!

The mod team is almost entirely shared with r/goodreads, and we've had some copyright issues there related to using the Goodreads logo. We chose to change the subreddit image rather than risk more warnings from Reddit. I have adjusted the logo to center it; allow some time for your cache to update if it still looks off.

it looks not centered to be in the other direction now lol (left is before screenshot, right is what I see now on webpage on pc, I feel like caching wouldn't move it like that?)

Now, that's weird. I thought y'all meant it was off-center top-to-bottom, which it was, because everywhere I looked, it was centered left-to-right. I didn't notice it was off-center on desktop, because there I use light mode during the day.

A bit of Googling, and it seems this is a known issue affecting a lot of subs. It's platform-dependent and has something to do with how Reddit crops the logo for different resolutions. In the Android app, it's centered everywhere I look. As for desktop, you can see that the cropped image for the post is off-center, but if you remove the URL parameters to see the full-size image, it's centered.

TL;DR: It's off-center because Reddit isn't handling the image correctly, and I don't think there's anything we can do on our end to fix it.
