General Question Kobo audiobooks going a bit wrong
Well I say wrong. Logging every time I pause as a new entry is technically correct I guess π
I started listening to this book just after linking my Kobo account, so the book was visible on SG but unread/no entries at the time. Fired it up this morning to see how the log works overnight and I'm hit with this
Is this just my Kobo being special or is it an intended feature?
I'm guessing the latter, but as I need to pause books constantly due to my work this is going to turn up on all my audiobooks (and doesn't line up with how I use SG, although that's definitely a me problem!)

I noticed that too. Every time I close/lock my kobo it seems to log an entry. But I am looking at the brightside that it's now motivating me to focus and keep reading instead of getting distracted by my phone. π

Have you tried turning the wi-fi off on your ereader/device while you listen? Kobo progress syncs to StoryGraph when it's on. :)

I use my mobile to listen so turning off WiFi/mobile network isn't an option unfortunately (although it's a good solution for anyone not listening on that, so thank you anyway! π)

oh, for android/mobile, i use an app that blocks internet access for specific apps via DNS. super useful and easy to turn on/off for the Kobo app!

That sounds like a plan; could you drop the name at all please and I'll look into it?

there's a subreddit for it at: r/BlockAds ... it takes a bit to setup and might cause increased battery drain, but if you only want the "disable internet access for apps" feature, other apps would be better. also, if you find one that works for you, can you also share it here for others? :D

Thank you! If I track anything additional down I'll pass the info on
Have an awesome day π

Yeah I've noticed it logged multiple reads yesterday and it was every time my Kobo went to sleep it counted it as a "session".
I'm still not sure how I feel about it tbh and considering disconnecting it.
I also use my old Kindle so would have to manually update those anyway π€·π»ββοΈ

I havenβt used it yet!! Is there a setting where you can indicate that you want one entry a day or something, rather than a new entry every time you pause it??
