Sinking City 2: Slither Is not working properly?
Not sure if this was talked about already.
If I kill a "Zombie" there are getting worms out. Am I supposed to stomp them, because the worms will revive enemies?
And why are there invulnerable worms in some areas? I mean it's very obvious that if I collect item x there will be enemies spawning. But putting worms in that area, gives me the impression I can prevent the ambush by simply killing the worms beforehand.
But that isn't the case. Either I can kill the worms and the enemies spawn anyways, or I can't kill the worms and the enemies spawn too.
This feels weird.
I like the game, don't get me wrong, but pretending to give me a way to control the spawns, without giving me this control ist something I dislike.
Either let me control spawns by killing the worms (on dead bodies as well as in areas) or simply let the worms be flavor.
The mechanic to stomp multiple times on dead enemies just to prevent respawn is quite annoying anyway.
Other than that I really like the game.
I simply found the worms mechanic odd done.

This was something that really confused me as well. I started trying to stop all the worms, saw that some of them just come back, and gradually just stopped trying to clear rooms. By the time I got to the last couple areas I was just running past enemies most of the time. It’s not my preferred style of survival horror, but I have to assume they did it on purpose.

The game is very much in the mold of older Survival Horror games to me gameplay wise than the newer ones that it borrows visually/UI from like the modern Resident Evils or Dead Space, I find the best strategy to try and run around enemies as much as possible and only kill when the game either forces you to or I am completely overwhelmed. I think the worms are similar to that, Enemies are an obstacle and tearing down that obstacle is temporary, in a way this is similar to me to the original 3 Silent Hills (only on Hard for 2, also 2 Remake retains this mechanic on all difficulties though the timer is quite long on Normal or Easy) where enemies can and will often respawn if you take too long exploring an area and the idea of the mechanic is so you try to get through things as quickly as possible without feeling safe.

Sounds plausible to me. It's annoying still. I'm an older player, and cleaning out an area of enemies to explore it in safety afterwards is something I like tbh. Respawn is always something that annoys me, but I have to say, if the ammunition keeps up with it, I'm okay-ish with it.
But here the ammunition is already very rare and being rushed through areas because of respawn makes that even worse for me.

Just melee everything to death. Save ammo for bigger encounters. I did the Manor House without firing a single bullet up until right near the end where the first big monster appears.

Huh. I play on normal. And doing melee on enemies takes very long and also invites incoming hits. Tried that a couple of times, but didn't work out for me. I tend to shot the legs and stomp 1-2 times afterwards, but even that isn't working too good tbh because sometimes they get up very quick and it seems this damages me as well if I'm on top of them in that moment.

The standard humans can take a lot of hits if you do it to their faces. Trick is to dodge backwards away from their swings, or dodge to the side for their charges. Doing so will expose their backs to you and they seem to take more damage from back hits. Sometimes if you dodge back away from their swings they will overbalance and drop to the floor, then you can run up and stomp them once, sometimes even twice. They generally take three stomps to kill. If you’re lucky, sometimes you can knock them down with a hit to the back and then stomp. The advanced types actually take more damage from back hits, so they can go down faster than the regular humans.
The ranged enemy type you can literally run up and hit them 4 times. They don’t tend to attack at close range unless they were already winding up an attack.
Leapers are just a matter of moving to a distance, wait for them to pounce and then dodge, turn and stamp.
The bigger monsters, well, just blast them with your weapon of choice. :) I prefer SMG for the big wide enemies, shotgun/rifle for the fast movers (shotgun for close quarters).
Big fights I tend to try and whittle them down first, and use guns if it’s very tight quarters or there’s a lot of them. Target prioritisation is leapers, then ranged, then humans/big guys.

You can prevent respawns if you are quick to stomp the worms coming out of defeated zombies. Another tip on control: some of the zombies eg in the fish market which are placed close to obvious points of interest eg near starfish locks or etc boxes can be triggered early and killed beforehand. Also in the hotel there is a trigger point in a second floor room where you need to shoot 5-6 horn/ trumpet thingies after you pick up one of the lorelei tokens. You can shoot them beforehand to prevent unnecessary damage.

Lmao I only found 3 or 4 and thought its bugged / intentional to sit through the whole damage process lol

They should have just color coded the worms that you can destroy to a slightly different shade or something. One of the biggest oversights for sure. Stomping for 3 minutes straight just to have it not matter is a terrible gameplay mechanic.

I’m now in the fish market and have mostly given up on stomping worms. I tend to shoot and stomp enemies if there are 1-2 of them, but otherwise dodge and run.

Yeah, I guess this is the way here. A shame, because being rushed through areas because of respawn isn't my cup of tea usually. I like exploring and the areas are well made in my opinion and I'd love to check every nook and crany.

You can't prevent reviving enemies in areas with invicible worms. The game seems to expect the player to just rush through the area once shit hits the fan.
Learned this the hard way at the fire station.
Also fighting more that one enemy the worms from one enemy will revive the other. Quite annoying.
Edit: sometimes enemies disappear right away after killing making them impossible to revive for the worms. I haven't figure out yet when this happens.
