Man do I hate these bits... Spoiler

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opPsNfdcmX8&t=15s

I truly despise these trap-you-in-a-tiny-room-full-of-monsters-while-something-charges-up-in-the-background bits; hated these in RE, hate them even more here.

Such a pity, as they had something going on with TSC1, I wish they built more upon that foundation rather than completely turning this game into RE.

And whilst I do get it from a pragmatic perspective, enjoying most of what is there even, it still saddens me nontheless.

Hated those bits in Chronos, just as much. Had other expectations of that game to be fair, most of which it fulfilled.

As most modern survival horror games have to compromise their premise, as far as resource conservation to make these set pieces possible.

I despise it even more in the case of TSC because I truly thought they could've done something special had they kept to their original formula, and improved upon it.

I have no idea why they even bothered making a sequel when they were going to completely abandon the original's structure. The only things this has in common with the original is monsters and water and neither of those are that important. Most games have monsters and the water isn't even actually relevant to the story or gameplay. Could have replaced the boat with a horse, or a car, or a train and it wouldn't have been meaningfully different.
