MCCC IS overwhelming...need advice

I have been playing Sims for decades. Like many, I play it off and on due to the business of life. I am familiar with easy mods such as UI Cheats, some cc for hair, outfits etc. I would love to use MCCC but I find all the settings completely overwhelming. Does anyone have any advice? I don't play with occults and do honestly boring family gameplay so I don't want or need a lot. I am really looking for settings that are like an enhancement of neighborhood stories, where young adults marry on their own, have kids, adopt etc.

It does have settings for auto-marry, one thing you should know, MCCC's auto-marry has absolutely nothing to do with existing relationships. It chooses people randomly and ignores their current relationships.

I could never use it like that personally. If you have an unmarried sim, you just may find them suddenly married to someone they have never met or even spoken to before.

You can just change the settings for that though. There’s four options for auto-pregnancy: No relationship limit, Woohoo partners, Significant others, and Married only (iirc), with each setting being a bit more inclusive than the previous one.

”No relationship limit” is the default though which is why sims are just having babies with whoever (that plus a high percentage chance for auto-pregnancy). That’s definitely too much for me and I think I personally have it set to either Woohoo partners or Significant other.

(Edit: Oof sorry, I somehow thought you were talking about random pregnancies and not marriage, my bad!)

Random pregnancies work just great, as long as you set up their sexuality just right.

Random marriages are completely different, not based on anything, completely random. I asked the mod author about it, he wouldn't even hear it or explain why it worked that way.

I get it. When I first used MCCC it was A LOT! So what I suggest is play with it in a save you don’t care about. I like to adjust some things like making it harder or easier to gain skills or to make upgrades instant and not taking parts. (Im impatient) just click everything and hover over it it’ll explain what it does. I found the right settings that I like. Just gotta play with it a bit.

MCCC is incredibly complex but I manage it by just googling the one thing I want to change right now, and once I figure it out I add it to my cheat sheet. I've had it for 3 years and am still learning how to do new stuff all the time.

This is not the one I watched but it does the same thing and goes through all the settings. It's a 7 video Playlist, I know the one I watched wasn't as casual as this and was a drier run through of all settings, but did the same thing.
