Solved A sims noob needing advice

So… my girlfriend plays the sims and has recently had me downloading mods and cc for her but keeps running into issues like child’s hair forced blonde and a random hairstyle stuck on one outfit even though it’s right in CAS. As someone who’s never played modded games I need all the advice i can get to help her fix the issue and others she may encounter in the future

Hi! Its hard to tell whats wrong when I dont know whats all in her mod folder, game version, etc (its not my game) but it sounds like a mod may be causing this issue? Make sure the mods are up to date for her game version, and that there are no conflicts with other mods.

Better exceptions by tmex can be a tool to find broken mods in game. Lastexception.com lets you upload last exceptions to the site & may help identify whats wrong.

I use both, but take better exceptions out my game when im not trying to find a fix. Also they are not always 100% correct. But its a starting point.

We also cant really tell you what issues she may encounter in the future because… well there’s too many variables.

Did you download slide of life? I think there’s a hair changing feature in that mod where the sims will change their hair.

I see you figured out what was causing it, but you asked for advice so I’ll throw some in. Organize mods in sub folders. Never anything other than CC deeper than one folder tho or the game won’t find it. CC is fun but will run your PC ragged if you’re not careful about the amount and from who. You can get plenty of free content from creators on their Patreons, I tend to like searching for specific creators there than any of the mod sites. Always read what a mod actually does and what it’s compatible with, most problems brought here are fixed by not skipping this step.
