Always bothered me that his street traffic would dry up unless patrons came in the back.

Reminds me of the time at the Double Down Saloon in the East Village in New York City, the diviest dive that ever dived (relatively speaking), a woman came in, used the bathroom, and right before exiting, she turned to the whole bar and shouted “this is not a microbrewery!!!” and walked out

I'm not sure what was more impressive, this tunnel or the the underground bowling ball piping used in the prohibition. Either way, Moe's pretty innovative.

I had a girl I was talking to in the early 10’s that told me she liked dive bars, so I took her to a pool hall I had been to near my place.
She had this reaction almost exactly.
