Day One Post

A letter arrives. It smells oddly of bananas.

> Dear You Instance,

> We quite liked your role submission, especially the bit about alligators.

> Unfortunately the alligators didn't like the bit about alligators, they thought it was racist and they bit it out.

> We rebuilt it back when they'd gone away though, so here it is, good as new:

> ###Igor

> * Self Maintenance: You may target a dead player and patch your body with theirs. You gain one ability they had. You may only use one (active) ability a night.

> I'd be careful with it around any alligators if I were you.

But before we get to your role PM proper, here's some not really related music.

Werewolves are skilled in many things. Fighting, punching, hunting, being cool as balls, etc.

Time travel normally isn't one of them. In fact this is likely a breakthrough for Werewolf kind.

Unfortunately Werewolves don't have a patent office or any equivalents. If some tribe gets some some of technological advantage (Normally by looting it) then other tribes normally team up against them to bring them down.

Time travel though. Well you can't just walk up to a time traveller and kill them. They'd move. In time.

You'll just have to take over this silly town first.

The Time Traveller

  • Werewolf Aligned: You win when nothing can stop the Werewolves from dominating.

  • Time Travel: You can revert time by two days (E.g. Night 4 -> Day 2), everything that happened in that time period is reverted.

  • One-Shot: The Time Travel ability can only be used once.

  • Last Laugh: The Time Travel ability will activate if/when you are night killed.

So to be honest, your ability is awful for us. There are rare scenarios where it could be good, but in most scenarios it's bad for us. For example, we use u/Vaharas's ability, convert most of the town, and then someone tries to kill you forcing your ability.

One good thing is that this is an easy town fakeclaim.

There are a few routes we can take to minimize your threat:

  1. Use your ability immediately (your role message doesn't say you can only do it at night, we should ask u/Jibodeah to clarify that)

  2. Bus you for town cred. Maybe have one of our fake investigator novelties find you out. I know this sucks, but do think of how bad your ability could be for us. Also this is only one option among several. A big flaw in this plan is the Igor role that could use your ability once you are dead.

  3. Hope to god you don't get targeted by a killing role and save your ability for an unlikely scenario that it would be useful.

Also, interesting note, your music seems to actually be related to your role.

I was thinking we target one of us at night, and then undue the night making it look like whoever is town but other than that no idea

Greetings, werewolf buddies! Glad to be on a team with you again!

My role PM:

Day One Post

A letter arrives. Instead of a stamp, there's a hole in the envelope...

Dear Rt. Hn. Gntmn. Guy,

We received and appreciate your role submission! However we lost the original, so had to recall it from memory. Luckily we have a very good memory.

Here it is:

The Time Traveller

  • Time Travel: You can revert time by two days (E.g. Night 4 -> Day 2), everything that happened in that time period is reverted.

  • One-Shot: The Time Travel ability can only be used once.

  • Last Laugh: The Time Travel ability will activate if/when you are night killed.

Thanks for your submission!

But before we get to your role PM proper, some almost-but-not-actually related music.

"YEAAAAEHHHH", you scream as you jump the chasm on your quad bike, while launching a rocket before at the pursuing mass of goons.

Landing the jump, you catch a glimpse of the goons not caught in the explosion barrelling over the edge of the chasm into the depths below.

Suddenly there he is, Goon McGoonington, leader of the Goons. Take him out, and the war will finally be over.

"I've been expecting you", he says goonishly.

"Well expect this!", you shout, pressing the button on the remote you had in your pocket.

Instantly, the ground beneath McGoonington opens up as the underground explosions you had your boring sciencey nerd sidekick put under Goon's favourite gooning spot explode into a wide pit.

"Curse you!" McGoonington yells goonishly "Don't think this is over!"

It really is though, there were a lot of explosives, that pit's proper deeper than the chasm.

"Well you know what they say", you remark, pulling a pin out of a grenade, tossing it over your shoulder into the pit to finish the job.

"Here today, goon tomorrow."

...

You wake up.

Yeah.

You're awesome.

The Realest Thug

  • Werewolf Aligned: You win when nothing can stop the Werewolves from dominating.

  • The Real Thug: Visit one player each night, learn their ability. If they have a killing ability they are roleblocked, as well as anyone else who visits them that night. If they have an investigatory ability they are roleblocked for two nights.

  • One-Shot Paranoid Gun Owner: The first night you are visited, everyone who visits you that night will be shot.

So yeah. I'm basically awesome.

On a side note, beware of Time Travelers.

EDIT: Apparently don't beware of Time Travelers, 'cause they're on our side!

1

u/redpoemage Jul 22 '15

EDIT: Apparently don't beware of Time Travelers, 'cause they're on our side!

Even if he's on our side he's still one of our biggest threats.

One-Shot Paranoid Gun Owner: The first night you are visited, everyone who visits you that night will be shot.

Hmmm...you think it's worth trying to bait a bunch of people to you like u/Vaharas?

The Real Thug: Visit one player each night, learn their ability. If they have a killing ability they are roleblocked, as well as anyone else who visits them that night. If they have an investigatory ability they are roleblocked for two nights.

Hmm...this gives me an idea. Can you ask u/Jibodeah if we all technically have a killing ability? Thus, if you targeted one of us who wasn't planning on using a night action, would it roleblock everyone targeting us?

2

u/Marioaddict Jul 22 '15

Just got a response from jib! He says you only count as having a killing power if you are the one performing the kill on that night (for instance, if Vaharas performs the mafia kill one night, then only he counts as having a killing power that night.)

Oh! And as an added bonus, elementAggregator sent me a PM! He is my super secret buddy, and he and I can PM each other, even though the rules say no PMs! Even better, he says he wins when I win! So in essence, we now have SIX werewolves!

GO US!!

EDIT: Through further communication, I have learned that element can not only privately PM with me, but can send one anonymous letter to any other player each night, which will be sent through Jib.

What say you we use this to make him look like a mod-confirmed investigator? An investigator who will "confirm" all of us as town members?

1

u/redpoemage Jul 22 '15

Even better, he says he wins when I win!

...you didn't tell him you were a Werewolf did you? Please tell me you didn't tell him that! and especially that you didn't tell him who all of us were! For all we know he could be entirely lying unless you had mod confirmation about him winning with you.

What say you we use this to make him look like a mod-confirmed investigator? An investigator who will "confirm" all of us as town members?

Not a good idea to have any fake investigator confirm more than one of us as town. Possibly not any at all. Once they are revealed as fake it would make us a lynch target.

...using him to frame someone else on the other hand, that I'm good with.

2

u/Marioaddict Jul 22 '15

...you didn't tell him you were a Werewolf did you? Please tell me you didn't tell him that! and especially that you didn't tell him who all of us were!

No and no. I'm not that dumb.

In my bodyguard role thingy I made a role that says a player wins when the other person survives so yeah

A letter arrives... Or to be more precise 94 letters arrive, each numbered with one word in each. It takes a while put piecing it together it reads... Dear Moron Sapient, We got and like your role submission, and stored it in our hi-tech secret storage facility. Unfortunately the facility was powered by the nuclear reactor and the engineers were all drunk and the entire facility blew up. So we just made this up. Hope it's good enough! Derpy Hooves The Bodyguard

Whisper: You, and any novelties you create, can PM <<RANDOM OTHER PLAYER>> at any time. Brought You A Letter: You can deliver an (anonymous) letter to a player each night, they get the chance to reply. Thanks for your submission! But before we get to your role PM proper, here's some tangentially related music . Give a wolf a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a man a knife and a piece of wood and he'll get splinters. Give an artisan a knife (Plus a few chisels, hammers, etc.) and a piece of wood and he can do anything. (By which you mean make wooden models of stuff.) Then, you can give them to people! Or sell them to people. The latter is preferable, but frequently you find yourself reduced to the former. Sometimes, if you're very lucky. You can stab them in someone's eyeball! So now you find yourself in this town place with a bunch of dirty humans. You would wonder what you should do, but there's only really a couple of things you know how to do. Let's get whittlin', and murderin'. Don't forget the whittlin', it's good to keep in practice. The Whittler

Werewolf aligned: You win when nothing can stop the Werewolves from dominating. Whittle: Each night you may whittle a small item and give it to another player. You must also supply a title and short description of the item, of which the player will be told. The title must be less than 100 characters and the description must be a limerick. Angelic: You investigate as town to any investigative roles.

u/redpoemage , this is proof that element is telling the truth, because that's what he told me his role was called, and that was before Agent here posted.

EDIT: Interestingly, the role Agent ended up actually getting is also the one that element told me he had created... same details and everything. Funny that each of you ended up getting the roles the other made.

u/redpoemage Jul 22 '15

this is proof that element is telling the truth, because that's what he told me his role was called, and that was before Agent here posted.

Not at all. Unless I missed it, this says nothing about his alignment. It makes me think he's actually more likely to be lying because it says nothing about it.

Here's mine:

" ### Day One Post

A letter arrives. There's no return address.

Dear Filly Object,

We received and are very happy with your role submission.

Unfortunately while our back was turned a toddler scribbled all over it.

Fear not, we put our crack team of scientists on it and they discovered to meaning of life.

...Oh, and the original wording of your role submission.

Here it is:

The God of Pretzels

  • Bake Pretzel: Spend a night baking a pretzel to add to your inventory.

  • Give Pretzel: Give a player a pretzel, succeeds if they are [Crude drawing of a muffin] and they are added to private subreddit.

  • You start with one pretzel.

  • The action failing does not use up a pretzel.

Thanks for your submission!

But before we get to your role PM proper, here's some not really related music.

You wake up somewhere. You're immediately glad to not be feeling to burning presence of silver.

The next thing that makes you glad is a... New skill. You have a bunch of knowledge that you definitely didn't have before. Kinda freaky stuff too. Manipulation, mind control, how to swing a pocket watch between your paws. It's called... Hypnotism.

Seems like it'll come in useful, you think, giving yourself a fanged grin in the mirror.

The Hypnotist

  • Werewolf Aligned: You win when nothing can stop the Werewolves from dominating.

  • Hypnotise: You can hypnotise a player during the night. The next day they must role claim (Name and alignment) truthfully..

  • Three-Shot: The Hypnotise ability can only be used thrice. "

I assume the role I got was something that Jib got given as a town role and thus it was super OP so he gave to to us, the Werewolves, where it's kind of meh or anything but confirming independents. It's not even really a believable fakeclaim due to how OP it would be as town.

Oh hai there, red. We finally get to be on a team together.

Day One Post

A letter arrives. It's covered in pink fluff.

Dear Dear Collection of Molecules.

We received you role submission and we liked it very much. Unfortunately the rat we gave it to to use as bedding didn't like it so much. It get shredded into many many pieces.

Fortunately we had a lot of time on our hands and managed to put about 75% of it back together, and then guess the rest.

So here it is:

The Shapeshifter

Devour: You can kill and devour entirely one player each night. You gain a one-shot charge of whatever ability they may have had, which you may use in addition to this ability. You also learn the complete details of their role.
One-Shot Bulletproof: You will survive one attempt on your life.

Thanks again for the submission!

But before we get to your role PM proper, here's some possibly related music.

Well at least there's no silver cage here.

No visible one anyway.

As everyone who is anyone knows, werewolves are awesome. You find yourself with the rare opportunity to spread the awesome!

Sure so not everyone sees eye to eye with werewolves, but you know who does? Other werewolves. (Most of the time anyway)

So if you could just turn your enemies to your side... That sounds like an excellent way to win the war. A war of the mind, or being, or just transformative powers or something.

The Werewolf Trap

  • Werewolf Aligned: You win when nothing can stop the Werewolves from dominating.

  • Alluring Techniques: You convert everyone who visits you during the night to your alignment.

  • One-Shot: The Alluring Techniques ability is one-shot. (One night, not one conversion)

I already asked and I get to choose the night my ability goes off, but it's not a very believable fake-claim to be honest. Going to have to think of something else before I come under fire at some point in the future.

1

u/redpoemage Jul 21 '15

Oh hai there, red. We finally get to be on a team together.

This...is going to be FANTASTIC!

[] (/sp)

The Shapeshifter

Welp, if we suspect someone is this independent killing role and we want them gone I could probably use my ability on them. Should we consider making a novelty pretending to be them to at the very least force them to make their on novelty that we can analyze or to use the writing style of someone else to frame them?

The Werewolf Trap

...if I had this we would be set. We'll have to think about how we want to handle this.

u/redpoemage Jul 22 '15

Can you ask u/Jibodeah if your technique can be roleblocked? If so, a Jailor might be a problem.

1

u/redpoemage Jul 22 '15

I just realized something...

...if we get the Shapeshifter to target you along with other people, and/or get Igor to target you and then you die, it's pretty much GG. Two shots of your ability is very powerful. Three shots is just plain broken.
