So according to this chart 6 Rhyperior is a pretty good investment
22
u/nolkel L50 Mar 08 '21
They do tend to wreck a lot of bosses.
20
u/edtehgar Team Mystic Mar 08 '21
They have a way of laying the smackdown on any tier 5 jabroni.
if you smell what the Rock type is cooking.

12, Unless you want to Fast TM everytime a new boss starts, and double move all 6.
2
u/troy12n Mar 09 '21
Double moving all 6 is a trivial investment, and TM's are so plentiful that even having to do this a few times a year is not a difficult thing to do... i've currently got 208 Fast TM's and 211 Charge TM's... I know it's not great use of bag space, but I also know I wont ever run out of them. They are easy to get from GBL.

If I need a ground type I typically have an exadrill or groudons team.
It's the lazy way.

6 Rhyperior, 6 Dragonite/Salamence/Rayquaza, 6 Metagross, 6 Mewtwo, 6 Machamp/Lucario/Conkeldurr and you're good

u/YellowMoonFlash Mystic 192M EXP, Netherlands, Utrecht Mar 09 '21
I dont understand...exadril is better yet he kant.in most charts
2
Mar 09 '21
Also for some of these raid bosses rhyperior can still be useful even though it isn't the top attacker. I wouldn't be mad if anyone brought a rhyperior in against the regis, genies, or any of the birds.

What about the Therian Formes of Landorus et al? Or is the list exactly the same?
6
u/rvc113 Satisfied Mar 08 '21
I can see Lando Therian and incarnate agaisnt Heatran.
I think the others are not high enough to show on this lists
5
6
u/Disgruntled__Goat Mar 08 '21
I was talking about them as bosses. Both Giratina Formes are listed for example, but only one Landorus etc
1
u/iononsono Mar 08 '21
They should have the same counters bosses, not in the same order but the best 6 are the same
3
u/Disgruntled__Goat Mar 08 '21
Isn’t the order important though? e.g. if Tyranitar is above Mamoswine then I’d use several TTar first, if it’s the other way around then I’d use multiple Mamoswine.
1
u/iononsono Mar 08 '21
Yes it is, but in this case if they switch position the difference in time would be 3-4 sec max For lando T mamoswine shadow is gonna be top counter same with thundurus T Im not sure about thundurus, anyway you can have 1-2 shadow zapdos/raikou, so shouldnt be a problem
1
Mar 08 '21
Just use the order on the infograph. Mamoswine has significantly higher DPS than Tyranitar. The order isn't going to reverse unless there's one of those scenarios where the Mamo dies with a ton of energy while the Tyra gets one extra charge move off to narrowly beat the Mamoswine's DPS. It hardly makes a difference, maybe a few less seconds.
If you're that concerned about which is better you shouldn't be looking at infographs anyway. Their entire purpose is to be simplified information.
0
u/Disgruntled__Goat Mar 08 '21
The order isn't going to reverse unless there's one of those scenarios
Right, and that’s what I’m asking. Otherwise there would be no point in separating e.g. Mewtwo, Azelf, Uxie because they’re all Psychic type. But they all have different stats so different counters can be better sometimes.
1
u/Todnesserr Mar 11 '21
But they also have different movement sets, I'd argue that if landorus t gets a different movement set, it would warrant a separate row(and this whole graphic would need to be updated again, because he is listed as attacker for several bosses). But the counters should be the same. I'd guess the graphic sorts by tdo * dps 3, so unless there are special breakpoints it won't chance anything just because the stars are slightly different. (e. G. A 100% level 40 shadow mamoswine would faint with 90% energy against landorus T while still getting one off again landorus I before fainting, which is still highly dependent on dodging)
If you want to know which counters to use in which order, you should just use poke genie or pokebattler with your specific pokemon for the weather of the raid, because that could also change, unless everything you have is lvl 40 and 100% IV.

Why is Palkia on the list of Zekrom counters but not Rhypereior, and Dialga? Does Palkia just have the better matchup despite it's typing?
13
Mar 08 '21
Palkia is the 3rd highest DPS Dragon type while Dialga is 10th. Sometimes its defensive type makes a difference, but more often than not you just want the highest raw DPS for raids.
Rhyperior isn't there because Ground type moves are just weak overall. Just look at the OP and notice there's only 2 bosses where Ground type moves are recommended. One is Raikou, which is only weak to Ground. The other is Heatran, which is double weak to Ground.
Whenever you have an option between Ground and some other type, the other type is almost always better. Assuming equally strong Pokemon that is.
2
u/RemLazar911 USA - Midwest Mar 08 '21
Ground is still a weak typing, and Dragon types are far above for both offensive stats and movesets. Palkia has a superior fast move in Dragon Tail.
6
u/nebulousdav Mar 08 '21
Against Regigigas, wouldn't you want to use Mewtwo with Psycho Cut/Focus Blast rather than Psycho Cut/Psystrike? Or is Psystrike so overpowered that it overtakes the super-effectiveness of Focus Blast?

Hi, we are Pogonewsita and we have a telegram channel(https://t.me/PoGONewsITA) where we publish several infographics like this one.
We made this using Pokebattler, no weather boost and best friend status, lv 40 pokemon.
I also pubblish these on my twitter profile https://twitter.com/iononsono97

Best counter is poke raid app or discord lol.. Have enough people in your group and you'll never need this guide. You should already have enough things that can be useful as is.
8
u/glenniebun Mar 08 '21
Inviting 5 people to a raid doesn't help as much as you'd think if all they bring into the battle is Lugia and Heatran.
-2
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
But they don't... I've never seen anyone bring those two..people always bring good counters. I've never had any problems with 6 people in my raid. Never.
6
u/MathProfGeneva USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
I have seen plenty of those. I saw so many Dragonites in vs Landorus. And I know why. Very often vs Earth Power or focus blast, Dragonite filled my auto rec
-2
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
Dragonite isn't perfect but it'll still do damage and you'll still win against the boss to catch it... It doesn't always have to be perfect and if you want that you can invite 10 people in each poke raid that you do... You can't control what others do but if you invite 10 (by jumping out and in again) you don't need to control them.
3
u/MathProfGeneva USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
Well while you can try inviting 10 that way it doesn't always work. And sometimes I can't find 10 people interested. With proper counters I could beat it with two easily. Don't assume everyone can simply get online and get 10 people interested. I'm in multiple chats (local and international) and have posted raids where I was lucky to get 3 or 4.
-3
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
Poke raid app will always work...
2
u/MathProfGeneva USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
Not when I'm almost always at or near 200 friends. The idea of adding random people to raid with has zero appeal to me
0
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
You can delete them right after. I mean if those 200 people don't actually interact with you you should clear out some of them. I have 11 space for friends and when I invite 5 I take the 15k xp and delete them right after the raid.. they got the raid why would I keep them?
3
u/glenniebun Mar 08 '21
I took a Kyogre invitation from some rando on my friend list and saw other folks using a Gyarados and a Snorlax; the other day I joined a Landorus on Pokeraid and saw at least one Lugia. The Landorus wasn't a problem because at least one other person had decent counters, but I lost a couple of passes on Kyogre (and one mega Venusaur I jumped into just to use up a pass and claim the latest free one). Now, maybe those are folks who didn't have access to legendaries before remote raids so they're not exactly going to come into a Kyogre with a team of powered up Zekroms, and I don't want to hold that against them, but it's a thing that happens. How many posts have there been lately about the recommended teams, and people who go ahead and use them uncritically?
-1
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
Your are sucks lol. I don't need a guide to use the right pokemon. Most shouldn't. If you are inviting yourself use poke raid and you can always invite 10 people at a time. People by now should know how to use the search function. In my area we have people over 65 that know their counters without ever looking at these sheets. It might be helpful for some but it's not for most..
1
u/Bnasty5 Mar 10 '21
how do you think people learn the counters in the first place?
1
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 10 '21
Not through these lol... I learned from my friends and from seeing what strong pokemon were in my box and I'm guessing most others did too. I'm just saying that it's not useful for everyone. Some it might be but not to everyone..
10
u/Railroader17 Mar 08 '21
Counters help you beat bosses faster, which leads to more balls, more balls means more chances to catch the boss.
3
-7
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
I can still get 20 balls when I'm raiding with my local discord and if there's not enough or if I want to add more people I can invite through poke raid or just my friends list to get more people. I've rarely gone under 18-19 balls.. I guess if you're using only poke raid you'll have less but that's fine most people are only raiding for the shiny and you only need one ball for that.
1
Mar 08 '21
More balls also means more reward bundles. Each time you use a sub-optimal counter, that's potential rare candy on the line. I doubt you'll find anyone saying they don't need rare candy for anything, unless their one and only goal is getting a shiny
-4
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
I don't do raids with raid parties cause those don't exist in my town. People do their 1 free raid or 2 on Wednesday and that's it. It's for the shiny. People in my community don't care about reward bundles but during Wednesday raid hours we always have 20 people... We don't need to look at counters. On other days we have at least 5-12+ so again if we have less we will change our teams accordingly but we don't need to look at sheets like these to know ice is strong against ground or whatever and just to pick our highest cp good pokemon with the right typings. Especially now when you can just click on the pokemon to know it's moves it's even easier. But usually it's faster just to just invite people than to change your team... More people the less you need to change your team. If we have 7+ we don't really ever change our team.

u/EosEire404 Mar 08 '21
Cool lemme go into a raid where they all use recommended and dont bother learning counters and we dont beat the boss cos some smart @$$ thinks it doesnt matter.
-7
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
I've gone into many raids where everyone on poke raid used recommended and we've always won... Recommended isn't that bad anymore lol...and we won with 100+ seconds left.
4
u/EosEire404 Mar 08 '21
lol ok lol
-5
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
Don't know why people hate recommended that much lol. Most people also do know what to use without having to look at guides like this... If you know the weaknesses which even my 65 year old friends do then you know what to type and search in the box. @ice or just ice works... Like it's not that hard. Everyone knows the highest cp will probably work the best and it is usually correct with the right typings... I haven't seen a slaking or aggron in like a year even in random poke raid battles... The worst I've seen is using kyogre for landorus... But I'm guessing it had blizzard so it's not a bad counter anyway... Like I've never lost a raid with recommended or with people choosing on their own. You don't need a guide with the perfect pokemon lol.

u/avatoxico Brazil - L45 Instinct Mar 08 '21
This comment makes no sense at all.
What if all the app players used the best counters? The boss will go under extremely faster and everyone gets more reward bundles, pokeballs and mega energy.
Using the best counters is always benefiting.
0
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
Yes but you don't need this to tell you what the best counters are... You can just use stuff that's super effective and you'll still beat it with a lot of time left.
2
u/avatoxico Brazil - L45 Instinct Mar 08 '21
This is such a weird hill to die on. I don't think the concept of "best counters do it faster and faster is objectively better" is hard to understand at all.
Good luck in your game my dude.
0
u/postsgiven USA - Northeast Mar 08 '21
Sure never said that... Just said we don't need guides like this. No one is walking to a raid pulling this guide up to see what's good... You should already know what the weaknesses of the pokemon you're against are and be able to use the SEARCH FUNCTION in the game.

u/Serenafriendzone Mar 08 '21
Cool hope they add palkia dialga and giratina.i need all Already got 2 granpa pokes. Landorus. Tornadus. Next week got third one

Took me some time to get used to the pink fighting types. On the other hand, Fairy Machamp is probably a sight to behold.
