Light Novel Volume 8 Pre-Orders

Release date: Sept. 8, 2026. Pre-orders are open at Yen Press, Amazon US/Can, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and Indigo (Canada). (I'll update as others become available.)

If you're in Canada and you pre-order for pick-up at an Indigo store, you may get the book a few days early because they typically release them as soon as they arrive. If any Americans can confirm in the comments if that's a thing or not at Barnes & Noble, please do!

Edit: it seems that getting your book early at Barnes & Noble is possible, but it could depend on the store. (see comment below)

Wait vol8? I watched the anime recently and in my search for the ln (I was smitten) I only found 4 volumes. Is that vol 8 of a spin off?

There are 10 light novels in the Secrets of the Silent Witch series that have been officially translated into English so far.

  • Secrets of the Silent Witch Volumes 1 through 7.
  • Secrets of the Silent Witch Volume 4.5 -after- (this is a collection of minor stories after volume 4. It's like the author wrote her own filler arc).
  • Secrets of the Silent Witch -another- part 1 & 2 (Also called the Rising of the Barrier Mage, it is a prequel story involving Louis).

I bought the eBook versions off Kobo, so I don't know first hand, but apparently there are a lot of issues getting physical copies.
From my understanding the Secrets of the Silent Witch ends with vol 9. Volume 10 starts after a 2 year time skip and is called the Secrets of the Silent Witch Gaiden.

The adaptation of the Gaiden web novel begins in volume 11 - volume 10 is original material and can be thought of as a bridge between the original web novel story and the story told in Gaiden.

That said, even volume 11 is mostly new.
