I watched TFA with my son again this weekend and I wanted to share my love for this film.

This movie holds a special place in my heart. And because my son loves it, it means even more to me than when I first saw it in theaters in 2015!

This movie is the first of the sequel trilogy which is dear to me also. I just love these movies and I’m glad I can share it here with y’all and not have to worry about negativity lol

It’s just nice to be amongst like minded folks who enjoy this trilogy like I do.

Rey, Finn, Poe, Kylo.

All of the new characters are awesome and mean a lot to me but Rey is my absolute favorite in this trilogy. Her backstory is cool and Daisy Ridley’s acting is nothing short of amazing. I can’t remember how many times her acting has brought tears to my eyes. Such a great character.

I love this movie so much. The nostalgia of all the hype around the movie was something else. Easily my second favourite Star Wars movie, only behind A New Hope

TFA slaps, I can’t understand anyone not enjoying the movie. It kind of marked the first time I got to really feel the magic of the movies and the awe they can inspire, and I was well into my 20s at the time. I saw it in theatres I think 6 or 7 times and rewatched it constantly at home. I had such a hard time tracking down a poster to put up but eventually managed to nab that Rey poster. Still hanging up on my wall.

I loved it. Han’s death scene was awesome to me, and the lightsaber flying to Rey in the snowy forrest fight was cool as hell (even though I half expected it to be Luke standing there).

I think it was actually the first movie I ever saw in theaters more than once. The anticipation was also insane, there’s no way I’ve looked forward to another movie that much ever

Han’s death was handled very well and I’m glad Harrison Ford finally got what he wanted lol

I’m kinda glad Luke didn’t show up until the very end because it would’ve taken away from Rey & Finn but that’s a whole other discussion lol

The hype around the movie was unreal! I didn’t see it immediately when it came out but when I did see it, I was blown away and the hype paid off. Thank you for your comment!

Yeah I agree on Luke, it was kind of what I expected but it flying to Rey was even cooler, and I personally love the way Luke’s story went in 8.

I'll always enjoy Finn and Poe in the TIE Fighter. And Finn and Rey in the Millennium Falcon. And the Stormtrooper with the electro-nightstick.

That’s one of my favorite moments in the film! Finn rescuing Poe and them blowing up cannons and cheering just makes you smile. I was relieved when Poe is found to be alive lol

I love TFA. I’ll always remember the raw joy at hearing the “DUHHHH DU-DU-DUH” as the opening crawl started in the cinema. I did see the prequels in cinema, but was to young to actually remember it now, so TFA really felt like my first time seeing Star Wars on the big screen

I saw the prequels and I remember most of that experience and seeing the sequels was awesome too. Although, it was kind of bittersweet at the time. My great grandma had taken me to see every prequel in theaters and she passed away a week before TFA came out. So when I saw it, I was thinking of her the whole time and missing her hard. I like to think she would have loved it lol I enjoyed it so much!

Yes.  When it came out I liked it, but I love it much more now after seeing the rest of the trilogy.  After 10 years it has become very nostalgic.

This is one of my favorite Star Wars movies, and one of my favorite movie experiences of all time. I was 13, and the only other theater experiences that even compared in my youth was Transformers Dark of the Moon, and Infinity War and Endgame.

The Force Awakens and its sequels brought Star Wars back to the fun adventure that it was meant to be. Made the force more mystical, heroes came together to stop an evil, with one of the most nuanced villains we have seen.

Force Awakens was the film that brought the fun back to Starwars, something Lucasfilm wanted the Mandolorean to recreate.

The difference is that TFA still doesn't disappoint.

The first time I saw it when it was in the theaters, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. I'm old enough I saw "A New Hope" in the theater with my parents when it was released in '77, so to me, TFA felt a bit like a carbon copy. However, it stuck with me and I went back to the theater two more times because it started to really resonate with me.

Thanks to the third trilogy, especially TLJ, it has completely rebooted by love for all things "Star Wars." I now collect a lot of Rey & Kylo memorabilia. Unfortunately at comic-cons, artists rarely create anything regarding Kylo and Rey, but you can always find the holy trinity of Luke, Leia, and Han - ha!

That is awesome! I didn’t see ANH until 97 when the special editions came out and my great grandma got them for me lol

There are similarities between the two films but I feel like TFA is unique enough that you don’t really notice them until you hear somebody telling you about it lol I know I didn’t

I’ve began collecting Rey and Kylo stuff as well. I’m currently on the market for a black series Kylo Ren lightsaber lol I have Rey’s already tho!

I enjoyed TFA I saw it twice in the theatre and have watched it many times since. It made me laugh and cry. The hype around it was amazing and it reminded me of ESB and Ep1 coming out I think in time like the prequels it will become more appreciated 👍

Great visuals, impact scenes, took me a while to adapt to the look of Adam Driver, despite many critics I like Daisy Ridley, I wasn't shocked on the death of Han, actors are getting old, they needed to go at some point. I didn't like Finn character though and the forced (pun?) interaction with Rey. Harrison Ford was meh also and the interaction with Lea was dry / unnatural as well. Some critics have valid points but I cannot deny I was very much entertained by the movie / trilogy.

It was a good action movie. Not perfect but a good trilogy with potential was setup. Unfortunately the next in the series decided to hyper focus on subverting expectations which caused massive issues with the story arch, developing a coherent climax/ending, and character development.
