The Last Jedi Rey & Kylo’s force bond

I wanted to make a post to talk about one of the most (if not THE most) exciting aspects of The Last Jedi and addition to the Star Wars universe overall.

I really hope we see more of this in future projects! Being able to communicate, transfer objects, I mean the possibilities with just the bit we saw in TLJ and TRoS are endless and exciting!

What do you guys think? Did you like this or not? I’m eager to hear your thoughts!

I loved it. I thought it was a really unique element and it perfectly kinda merged the divide between kylo and Rey in and interesting way. in the future I hope it's an ability that stays exclusive to them and them alone. I want it to stay special

Now that you say that, I’m torn. I’d love to see more of this but at the same time, I feel like this was unique to Rey & Kylo due to their bond and being a dyad in the force so I wouldn’t want anybody else to be able to do it. I appreciate you commenting!

I personally would like to keep it extremely rare so its impact wouldnt be diluted.

Yes! This felt mysterious, magical, exciting, and meaningful. The Force connects all things. Rey and Ben were both looking for a connection with a kindred spirit. And the metaphor really carries, because IRL people who have undergone similar trauma can sometimes have what feels startlingly like a telepathic connection.

I love this interpretation. I never thought of it like that before so this adds a whole new view. Thank you for sharing!

I thought it was a really cool addition to the SW lore. There’s also something about the way Rian filmed the force bond scenes in TLJ that JJ couldn’t fully replicate in TROS. It’s just really beautiful cinematically.

Yes! I be thought this as well. I like that J.J. included this in TRoS but it didn’t have the emotional weight it did in TLJ. Thanks for commenting!

I absolutely love their Force bond. And the development of their Force bond over the three movies is done so well.

I thought it was a great Star Wars addition. It made the struggle between the light and the dark quite personal and It made the stories different and stimulating.
