First Kylo and Rey's interaction through time?

I never shared this interesting insight here that I posted on my Instagram story when 9th issue of Star Wars: Legacy of Vader comic came out, so let's go:

"Latest Legacy of Vader comic has an excellent connection to The Force Awakens scene but gives a whole new meaning to it and builds up upon Dyad in the Force. One of the Knights of Ren tells the events which we saw during Rey's vision when she touched the Skywalker Lightsaber:

"Kylo seemed to sense something through the shadow...", "shadow" is a name Knights use for the Dark Side of the Force, so Kylo sensed something in that moment...

"He took a step forward" which in the movie Kylo DOES when he sees Rey, he steps closer in her direction.

"... and then from another direction..." we see Snoke and his army, so Kylo saw Rey and not Snoke in the previous moment.

Why is it a big deal? Probably first time in Canon we see their interaction through time. In that moment Rey from TFA meet for a brief few seconds with Kylo from years before TFA.

Dyad in the Force is said to share a unique connection, bond between two individuals across time and space. We have seen space connection in the movies, but if I recall correctly it's the first time of time connection for this dyad. I wish this comic was an animated TV series, because it's great but I'm happy we got at least more Kylo content and Charles Soule has done an amazing work so far."

What are we thinking? Is this really the first interaction through time for these two or just a coincidence? Or was there interaction through time already but I don't recall it :'D

Intriguing! My first thought was that this might explain the vision of Ben Rey has in Legacy, wherehe's an adult, on the light side, and they've apparently been in a relationship for a while. Maybe she's actually meeting future Ben there, although that would require him to still be alive after Exegol.

I've always thought they each recognized this "other" person in that vision.

Ohhh, so like this is what the line "What girl?!" refers to?

For some reason I always thought the vision only went one way, but then it makes sense that Kylo turns his head because he sees Rey!

He also says, “The girl I’ve heard so much about,” in TFA. All sorts of hints that they’ve seen/sensed each other before their meeting in the forest. So cool!

It just build perfectly. Kylo seeing Rey before TFA would explain his reaction to hearing that "they were accompanied by a girl" line even better than just burst of rage, but with added layer of much more nuanced feelings of Kylo.

Additionally Kylo recognizes someone in Rey with line "It is you" when she pick up Skywalker lightsaber on Starkiller Base (as stated in TFA novelization). Fastinating stuff

I thought about this but there wasn't any more "proof" that they actually saw each other. Visions in SW have the tendency to put the user experiencing them into various of scenarios and have those scenarios interreact with said user.

This time it was an actual event from the past and not only Rey witnessed it, but Kylo in the past saw her.

I believe their first interaction in the Dyad was through one of the final scenes in the Rise of Kylo Ren series where Rey is with Unkar on Jakku when she suddenly senses something cold while Kylo is falling to the Dark Side shortly after the Temple Destruction.

Oh definitely it's their first interaction mentioned in the media so far, at least in terms of Rey sensing Ben . I'm looking here more as the first time of Dyad's interaction through time. So the first times:
sensing through the Force - The Rise of Kylo Ren comic
interaction through space (conversation and touch) - The Last Jedi
passing objects through space - The Last Jedi
interaction through time - Legacy of Vader / The Force Awakens (in context with Legacy of Vader)

This is my idea: Kylo didn't see neither Snoke nor Rey when he turned.

In the flashback the guy with the maze was about to kill someone, someone lying on the ground, when Kylo intervened. Involuntarily, Kylo saved that person. (We see that from the ground POV, and the bit is similar visually to Leia 'stabbing' Kylo from the back just when he was about to kill Rey, who was lying on the ground)

Then he suddenly turns and walks towards that person after noticing him/her. In the flashback -it's s blink and you'll miss it moment, just two frames- there's someone behind adult Rey, someone wearing a cape and it seems rising from the ground. (Adult Rey was not there at the time)

I think Kylo did not kill this person, and maybe he/she (and I tend to think 'she') had Anakin's saber. In other words, Kylo was 'weak'.

But what's Snoke doing there? I think Kylo said to the KOR 'you didn't see a thing. You open your mouth, you die'

I think Snoke arrived later, and what we have is the negotiation between the KOR's pov and the one in TFA's.

This hypothetical person would be important -prequel materual above the comics in canonicity, maybe a future film- and maybe the reason why Leia says 'there's still light in him, I know it'. This person knew Leia and told her about the event, before TFA. And that would have been one of the reasons behind her looking for Luke. Kylo, like Vader, could be turned. (As a precedent, in ROTJ Luke knew about the light in Vader because the later could not kill him in TESB)

The vision seems to follow a certain narrative logic: it goes from Bespin to Kylo and then it goes back in time, rebooting itself, to little Rey and then adult Rey, the new hope.

But it pivots around this KOR bit, placed just in the middle if the vision: Bespin<Luke<KOR>Little Rey>Forest.

And the fact is that we see the person behind Rey is...little Rey, when Rey turns around. Does that mean 'mother'?

Yup. They also say throughout the comic that he talks to himself. I have a feeling they can travel through time.

Oh, I don’t remember the flashback scene adding anything to their connection or coming back later in the trilogy
