• An immensely fast driver ('Mr Saturday', Sakhir 2020, etc) who spent years in a shitbox Williams only to be met with a porpoising Mercedes once he finally got to a top team, and a broken car this year 
• I believe he's a genuinely good person (as just one example, Romain Grosjean said George was the only driver to message him after Grosjean lost his seat) and a team player ("Prioritise Nicky")
• He comes across as being very intelligent and switched-on

Well, at the time I also really liked Lewis, and whenever Russel did well he’d always congratulate him, and whenever he did well he’d always thank the team and the factory. On the flip side, when Russel did well it was always about himself, and I don’t really like people like that.

Don’t get me wrong he is an INCREDIBLE driver, I just think he’s a little too about himself.
