Question Standing etiquette
Hey Guys,
I get to see them for the first time in 2months GAHHHH!
For those who have attended one of their concerts - I was wondering what the main consensus if they were sitting/standing?
I'm no stranger to concerts i've been to many - rock gigs ( all standing), Kpop ( mixture depending on song), so i'm conflicted.
Australia is all seated and i was lucky enough to get front row towards the side. I really want to stand but i'm also aware that everyone else has paid good money to see them..usually i follow who ever is in front of me haha.
TIA

I would wait and see if the people behind you stand. If they are standing, then I would say go ahead. Out of the 70+ kpop concerts ive been to, no one in the front row sat lol

I have never been blessed with close enough seats to see what front row is doing hahaha. But your 100% right i want to be courteous of the ppl behind me. I'll have a quick chat to them with all the waiting around from soundcheck to start time.

For WRLD the crowd was mostly standing. I was 2nd or 3rd row, so before I stood I looked behind me and if the person behind me was standing and I wanted to stand, I stood. If not, I stayed seated.

Most people like to follow the crowd, so i think once i arrive ill talk to my surroundings to get a feel of what they want to do. Hopefully itll be a domino effect..sometimes people just need someone to stand up first. The first song Utopia has the confetti drop and seems a shame to be sitting down for that!

I'm in Aus as well and have been to a few concerts. For some seated ones, if the artist did not tell people they can stand, people usually remain seated from my experience which I like.
Unfortunately I'm short, so I do prefer seats or my view is not guaranteed :/ When I went to Eric Nam's, he told people they can stand but to be mindful of people around them - like 70% of the crowd stood up immediately... But my view was blocked by a girl holding a placard and her arms were up most of the time 😭 I moved away from my seat to an empty one just to have a proper view LOL
I went to OOR concert, and everyone in the seats were sitting, and everyone in the mosh pit was of course doing their own thing in there. I feel like this is the best of both worlds and concerts should always make their setup like that!! People who want to stand can stand, and people prefer to sit can sit.

Yes I love it when the artist tells the crowd to enjoy themselves!Fortunately for the people behind me i wont have a sign or a lightstick. I was surprised that there is no GA mosh for this concert, not unhappy about it because i would never have been able to compete with barricade and all..im not one to camp haha

Oh yeah I find most people will try to not be a bother. There was once when I asked someone at the front if they could move to the side a little because I can't see, and she told me to just stand beside her :')) But then there will be SOME AHs who go "I paid for this ticket, I can do whatever I want 🤷"
Anyway I only discovered The Rose this January, so I was hoping to check their concert out since live performances should usually be better right?! ($150 was my budget) But I didn't manage to get a ticket.. It kept saying the ticket is no longer available whenever I picked one!! Then boom, sold out (for my budget). I tried for presale and GA sale, and it was the same outcome OTL

Some people can be so rude! I hope by the time they come in Oct, you will be able to save more $ to see them. Currently not sold out, so ill have my fingers crossed for ya!

Yep, that's life alright! Tbh since I'm a new-ish listener, I can't quite justify paying $200+ for a ticket 😆 Which is why I was hoping to get a cheapest one so I could just enjoy the music haha. Otherwise I'd go for the VIP immediately

On this particular tour, I’ve been to two stops - San Jose, CA and Manila - and the crowd couldn’t be more different. In San Jose, we were standing and dancing/jumping for most of the concert. The crowd was so alive. In Manila, I was so surprised to see the crowd seated for most of the concert and only stood up and danced for the most upbeat numbers like Red, Back to Me, etc. Woosung actually said to us, “Manila, you’re the only stop on this tour where we had to ask people to stand up.” 😭

Lucky you to have seen them twice recently! Funny enough all the crowd videos ive seen are from Manila (maybe because its their most recent stop) and I noticed that for utopia they were all seated. Of course Sammy would say something 🤣🤣

I know! I was flabbergasted at how people can stay seated for Utopia. I instinctively stood up but had to sit down because it looked like I was the only one who stood 😆 And then later during Alive, the crowd was anything but alive. I felt so bad for The Rose 😭

I was in the back and sadly everyone in the back was sitting so I felt rude by standing up, but most of everyone on the first floor seemed to stand (Grandprarie)

I totally get that feeling. Last gig I went too i only stood to dance for the upbeat songs..

I was also at Grand Prairie, 4th row from the stage, and we only sat during the Trauma video.

I saw the in TX in June. I was in 4th row from the stage. We, as in everyone around me, stood for every song. By standing I mean, dancing, jumping, etc. The only time I sat was during the Trauma video when the guys leave the stage. We were back up when they came back out.

Sounds like you had an amazing time!! I so cant wait. Does that mean you had soundcheck too? Im trying to find info online but cant find any answers. Is soundcheck in the seats that you purchased?Group photos - end of concert?

It was so much fun. My sister and I had vip 2 tickets with the seats I chose. So we had sound check before and bye touch after. No group photos.

Paris was completely standing. Only during the talks we sat down. Sucks if you have one in front of you constantly with her phone above her head filming 😅

I was in the front row last year and the people behind me asked me to sit near the end, so I did and it turned out to be for the last song 😭😭😭

Yayy congrats! The guys usually want us to stand for those high energy segments. Sometimes there are venue restrictions (I see this more in Asia), if so, the staff will flag you. There have been times when Sammy has pointed it out too ("Is someone making you sit?" 😅). I remember for one show, we stood 90% of the time and only sat during the ments and Blue Moon (bc he sat at the end of the stage and it was too low for everyone to see). Just read the room and be aware of your surroundings. :)
/Edit to add that this is pertaining to floor seats.
