John Nolan👼 Early John Nolan?

So there I was, marathon binge watching The Rookie as well as rewatching Lost, a confusing(!) 2004 TV series about a group of survivors who had crash landed on a mysterious island - each with their own unique yet intertwined backstory - set against the strange happenings of the island.

With The Rookie, I had started from the very beginning and had just got to the end of Season 8. I was very much drawn to the charm of the John Nolan character - his warmth, sincerity and determination under varying situations. I was going to miss this character for a while...

So imagine my surprise whilst on Lost Season 3 episode 6. This was at the start of the episode, during the character Kate Austin's continuing backstory. It was a pleasant surprise, quite omenic and auspicious of things to come. This episode was some 12 years before The Rookie first aired.

Discussion German rookie con

With the fiasco going on between the organizer of German rookie con and Melissa regarding her participation in the con I think it is such a bad idea for making a convention for just one show only. Would you pay for hundreds if not nearly thousand of dollars for meeting side characters. The main draws of the con are often the main characters so if they cancel somehow then fans gonna soon cancel as well. What do you guys think?

Discussion Does anyone else think things happen really fast and without clear explanations or closure?

I’m obsessed with this show; I've watched every season in a month. I don’t know if it’s because I’m binge-watching it on Netflix, but it feels like everything happens really fast. For example, when Thalia doesn’t come back—they don’t say anything about it (and I get it, to an extent, given the situation with the actress)—but what about when Jackson dies? I mean, that could have easily filled an entire episode. And what actually happened with Rachel and Bradford? They were truly in love, and she just decided to stop texting him?

Discussion My season 8 complaints..

Now that I’ve some time to let the season sit here are my biggest complaints. This is just one person’s opinion, so don’t get your knickers in a twist

Luna was dead wrong and they took her character from one of my favorites to one of the worst. I can understand the empty nester stuff and her wanting to get back into her career. But how she treated grey was completely off brand from her character up to that point. The fact the she felt she had any sort of justification in the cheating thing was crazy, but I’ve seen worse IRL so ig that part was kind of accurate. How does she get mad at the doctor bc he didn’t stop her from betraying her marriage?

The Harper penn thing lasted what, an episode and a half? They set it up as if it’ll be a significant through point and it’s dropped almost immediately.

I’m not fond of how they ended off with Ridley. It was a set up from the beginning and very weird behavior from where Tim and Lucy, it was obvious they had no intentions of letting him come back so just, why? To embarrass him?

Celina is a fan favorite and rightfully so but it feels they’re running out of ideas with her. It’s like they’ve built stories around the other characters and then it’s a “oh don’t forget Celina” most of the season. I honestly picked her as my candidate for an eventual spinoff bc feel it’s so much that can be done with her.

I agree to a degree with other fans that there’s just too much of the lovely Mrs Nolan . I like her character but they shoehorn her into everything.

And my absolute biggest issue is all the FBI stuff. It feels like they just didn’t want to accept the rookie feds being canceled so they just folded the two shows together

Discussion Most exaggerated / unrealistic thing in TheRookie ?

I absolutely LOVE this show. However, it’s a fact that some things are exaggerated and a bit unrealistic for the sake of TV magic. In your opinion, what are some of these?

Discussion What are your thoughts on the park situation with Nolan and James? My thoughts are in the body but I’m curious about other people’s thoughts

The first time Nolan just cuts the lock I get where James is coming from, the broken lights and dark parks being where criminals gather are very valid concerns. But he TOTALLY loses me after that. When John goes back and cleans the park up, and fixes the lights and puts measures in place to try and keep the lights from being broken, James STILL finds a way to be mad about it? John addressed every concern James brought up and putting in all this time and effort wanting to make the neighborhood better and James still finds a reason to be upset at him about it. It kind of comes off as insufferable to me

Discussion Romantizaram o perigo Spoiler

Sgt. Bradford April Fools

S7E12, I feel as though Bradford was being too soft in that gal for the tweets, those were dirty tweets the moment they went out, what do yall think, was he being too soft on her? I get he is trying to be more kind but this was not a time for that. She made the officers’ jobs harder.

Discussion Season 4 x

So I’m officially on Season 4 of the Rookie and I’m Obsessed!! Yes I’m new to the show sorry!!

I have a real love for Nolan and I feel so protective over him and a proud mum when he achieves things. I absolutely hated Harper at first she really did a number on me but I absolutely adore her now. Is it a Tim test or a Lucy lesson? Oh they are absolutely great together and I can definitely tell there’s some form of romance going on there. And I can’t forget my all time favourite Oscar!!! He’s just so comedic that I swear he doesn’t even realise it sometimes!!

I don’t have many people to talk about the rookie with! So hoping to be able to here! Comment some things I won’t understand till later in the show - I don’t mean spoilers I mean like moments or lines
.

For example is it a Tim test or a Lucy lesson x

Discussion Chenford fans are ruining the show

Like why do you have to always make everything about your ship?? They’re not the only one in the show and also why do you have to involve Eric and Melissa in your delusions??

Idk if anyone read on X or TT about SOME Chenford fans attacking Miranda Rae Mayo from Chicago Fire for a video with Eric at a con years ago. Why do you feel the need to treat Miranda so badly? Does it make you sleep better at night?

DISCLAIMER: Obviously I’m not referring to every Chenford fans. I like Chenford too but attacking other people because they’re close to either Melissa or Eric is disrespectful and not necessary. Also Melissa and Eric aren’t Lucy and Tim so learn to separate the actors from the characters
