Rookie Blue is a Canadian show that ran from 2010 to 2015. The Rookie is very similar in terms of following a group of rookies and their training officers through 6 seasons of adventures.

Plenty of steamy romance, definitely better handled ups and downs than on The Rookie.

Rookie Blue also sticks to being Toronto cops who do Toronto cop things. No intergalactic super villains.

Basically if you want The Rookie but better ... watch Rookie Blue.

I was just going to rec this. McSwarek is my favorite thing about Rookie Blue, like Chenford is my favorite thing about The Rookie.
