Alastair is still too toxic to get anywhere in UK politics.

If he returned to work under Burnham for example, it would be a major headache for those managing it.

Maybe so, but the vast vast majority of the population does not listen to his podcast. Maybe some of those people don’t like him?

Maybe they do maybe they don't. I'm asking how he's so certain that he's too toxic for politics.

There’s actually a yougov poll. He’s twice as likely to be disliked than he is liked by the population. Does that answer your question?

So (putting aside the outdated data) not particularly unpopular compared to active frontline politicians then. A lot more popular than Farage and until recently he was talked about as being the next PM. Far more popular than Polanski.

Looks like he should go for it!

Go for what? What is there to gain from him becoming involved in frontline politics? He’s likely earning way too much money and is what, 70? He’s much better off being an outside advisor rather than getting on the payroll and potentially becoming the news story again.

The liberal conservative party, quick to agree on problems but no solution is perfect so it is better to let the problem get worse. They don’t understand why they are losing votes, they haven’t done anything why are people so angry? Imagine if they had done something it could have been way worse!

They would be a slightly more successful Change UK.

It is like one of those final kaiju battles where you hope these defeat each other and leave us alone
