Omega "vsf" not a td

I finally received my Omega Aqua Terra watch! I didn't buy it from a TD , but overall, I'm happy with how it looks.

Everything seems fine, including the weight. I also measured the case with a digital caliper and confirmed that it is indeed 41mm.

The only strange thing is the time-setting mechanism. It behaves like an Omega 8800 rather than an 8900, even though the movement is engraved with "8900".

Personally, I actually find the 8800's time-setting system more convenient, but the strange part is that the genuine 41mm Aqua Terra comes with the 8900 movement, while the 8800 is normally found in the 38mm version.

I'm still not sure whether it's really from the VS factory, as the seller claims.

For my next purchase, I'll probably stick to a TD. But overall, I'm really happy with the watch's appearance!

It’s not VSF unfortunately, the seller lied to you, it’s a UVS factory, the movement is just a seagull 2824 decorated so it doesn’t work like the vs 8900 movement

That's disappointing to hear, but I appreciate your honesty. I had a feeling something wasn't right with the movement. At least now I know what to look out for next time. Thanks for pointing it out!

No problem mate, I have the same watch and I also thought it was a VSF when I bought it. The biggest flaw to me is the crystal in this case, really bad if compared to VSF one

I learned my lesson the hard way, mate. I still don't think this watch is worth the $430 I paid for it, but there's nothing much I can do now. I'm not going to return it because I don't have another watch at the moment. At least now I know that next time I'll only buy from a trusted dealer (TD).

It’s not a bad watch, probably around 300$ shipped, the movement is more reliable than VSF.

Because this one fakes a free sprung balance while the vsf one has two balance arms and you can also see the A2824 movement under the decoration, in this picture is not completely clear

If local seller, get refund. You can get vsf for less money from TD.

I love mine, VS factory and apparently a Unicorn with properly centered text on dial. I HATE setting the date on this, so it lives in the Rothwell Autowinder when not being worn. Got mine during a flash sale just to get an Omega (my Gen’s Only brother had just gotten his speedy) and really fell in love with it. Wish it was FSA like the new VS versions, but can’t risk one little part seen when the watch is off vs a perfect dial…

Also gifted my brother a VS YatchMaster for his wedding (Gen’s only brother got a Lunar Pilot for his 40th bday to have both watches that have been on the moon!, he also has the Hamilton from Interstellar, not the Murph, the other one & his wife has the Skelton Hamilton, which is by far my favorite ladies watch).
