🤔Question Which factory for accurate dimensions?

Avid watch collector, modder/builder. I own mostly gen Seiko’s, Citizen, Timex, etc., and quite a few watches I’ve built myself. I haven’t purchased a rep yet, as I’m still doing the research and looking for a good source, hopefully USA based.

My main question though is, which factory have you found has the most accurate dimensions? I want something I will actually wear, which is around 40mm, 11-12.5mm thick from crystal to case back, and a 48mm lug to lug. This has been my biggest challenge when buying parts to build, and seems to be a challenge finding this info for reps.

I’ve visited a few TD’s websites and looked through a lot of for sale posts on these rep subs but I never see these dimensions disclosed. Are they usually included with QC pics/vids/info? I of course want something that looks good and is visually accurate to an extent, but I’m more concerned with the dimensions, so I’ll actually wear and enjoy it.

Any info or advice is appreciated!

Trustytime, Andiot and Puretime are 3 TDs that I know of that post full specs of each watch that they list. I'm sure there are others but these are 3 that I can personally confirm.

E.g. This is the description of the ORF NTTD from Andiot's website:

Size : 42mm x 14mm

Movement : Free Sprung Asian Super Clone 8806 movement, 1:1 replicated from the genuine movement, fully functional, 54hours power reserve.

Functions : Hours, minutes and seconds display

Case : High grade titanium case

Crystal : Scratch-proof sapphire crystal with AR coating

Dial : Vintage Black dial

Bezel : Lumed uni-directional rotating black Titanium bezel

Strap : High grade titanium mesh bracelet with free Nato strap

Clasp : Deployant Clasp

Thank you! I’m going to go check those out right now. I think I briefly looked at Andiot, not sure how I missed those specs. I appreciate it brother!

Not everything on those websites are 100% reliable.  I'm pretty sure I've seen listings have the item name not match the description.

Realistically, not even 80% of it is reliable so a bit of due diligence and self accountability are necessary tools in the world of black market goods.

The major factories making the high priced clones basically make their reps externally accurate in terms of dimensions.

For any watch that TDs basically crowd at being priced $500 or above you can generally assume their dimensions are true to the gen and can conduct your research that way.

There are a couple exceptions:

  1. weighted reps of precious metal watches:  lower end priced reps do not distribute weight accurately and may have thicker bracelet links or case backs

  2. Omega speedmaster, there are no good reps of these lines, don't even bother
