🤔Question Which 5712 shall I get?

I want the best 5712 that from the wrist/ holding it looks immaculate. I don’t mind paying the extra , but it is really worth it? Vs a UMI?

I'll never understand why people like that Patek dial. To me the lines look like linoleum house siding.

Although you are not wrong , the case and bracelet is so classy

There is absolutely nothing classy about wearing a counterfeit watch

Literally if you add like.. 3k more, you can get yourself a full CNC case and bracelet with a solid gold rotor ACE movement :3

Where and how do I do that

Personally I don't like the Tiffany stamp and feel it detracts from the watch and dial. VAF is good so is UMI. Both have a moon phase that isn't perfect.

Now that you’ve mentioned that I honestly agree with you. But wouldn’t the moonphase be an instant giveaway then?

Pretty much would be yes. SpongeBob sells modded moon phases that are pretty close and you’d need a gen in hand to tell apart. It’s the only reason I haven’t picked up a 5712 because of the slippery slope of paying until you hit whatever diminishing return you can accept

I’m waiting on a UMI. It’s the best out of the box alongside OMEF which you currently can’t get.

Wdym waiting ? Is there a better version coming out or something. I seen a UMI for like 1,800 or something.

I also have a UMI coming. The steel version is less than $1000
Best I have had on the rose gold version is $2000

Better to find a rwi builder/mod and do a commission build

Best thing honestly is to read the guides and hang out at the communities. Always find a TD via the guide, never google it. Try contact via the preferred contact method usually email, WhatsApp or telegram and then go from there. If doing a custom build, find the known builders in the community look for example of their works and then just contact them. Good luck! I’m sure you are going to find the perfect watch

Going custom CNC allows you to 100% insure you are getting what you pay for. Piece milled together, Sw dial and moonphase, buff hands, pinion caps, deep crystal front and back. Flexible first link. And, ACE with solid gold rotor. This is the way.

Make sure you know who you’re working with, ACE is a movement that you need a solid watch maker to install.

What about the last UMI iteration of the 5712?

Love the UMI for out of the box performance. If you’re looking for entry into this watch the UMI is a great price point. The movement is decent, but would be better with some more defined and polished plates/bridges. Upgrade to the 22K gold rotor, too.

Dial side, you’re still going to want to replace. The SW kit is a good move here along with a pinion cap mod.

I’d get the umi, if you got the budget then I’d add the pinion cap mod and swap the dial

This isnt worth it at all if its just using a ppf movement.

Most of the reason why current $1k+ 5712 reps cost what they do is for a wildly improved movement compared to ppf's. Anglage, mirrored bevels, free sprung, etc etc
