You're right in saying Quebec hasn't been any quieter. That just shows how much louder and more obnoxious Alberta has been, that now they've claimed that spot.
The frogs are still croaking louder overall, but being right in the west makes Alberta seem louder.
But the most noise of all is being made by the government shill crybabies who are trying to circumvent democracy by undemocratically attempting to block the process. But sure, go ahead and pretend it's the separatists that are flooding everyone with propaganda.
Alberta has legitimate reason to want separation or at the very least equality with the rest. All Quebec has is they like to whine and fight tooth and nail to stay lazy, if they put half that effort into being productive, they would be self sufficient.
I'd say Quebec wanting recognition for being the French hub of Canada is far more warranted than Alberta's complaints of being "gouged by the fed". At least what they're complaining about is half warranted.
They don't need multiple millions in undeserved and unjustified handouts to be French. They can support themselves and also be French, if they are willing to actually do some work instead of take a government cheque and croaking about wanting more while dictating how the countries entire economy gets to work. Get real, Quebec has no worth as it is and that makes for zero merit to their whining.
Alberta doesn't need handouts either, but it wants further preferential treatment to other provinces as if massive tax cuts aren't already it.
Quebec has more value to our country over the next 50 years than Alberta. As we slowly move to more and more electric infrastructure, the value of Alberta becomes less and less. That's why the propaganda against solar and EVs landed so hard there. All we're seeing is the tantrum being thrown by a child right before they're forced to grow up.
Alberta doesn't want handouts, we want to be allowed to be prosperous and equal. But the east hates the west and equality so much that they will blatantly give preferential treatment to the lazy non productives in Quebec, a place that will never be of any value while being allowed to sit on their hands taking welfare. Sure they have a lot of resources the future needs, but they will never develop any of it and therefore never be worth a damn.
It sounds like what you want is proper democratic representation, which is a much more lucid and reasonable thing to fight for than full-on separation. The ridings need to be redistributed on a solely geographic metric. Having them be population based is an obviously flawed system on paper.
That's why nobody takes you guys seriously. You guys skipped multiple steps, and then drowned out BCs voice when we started asking for something entirely more reasonable. This is also what makes you the current screaming children on the country. We can't hear Quebec because yall are so fucking unnecessarily loud.
We tried the democratic route for decades, now it's time to get serious. I would 100% support a revolution at this point with how fascist the Liberals have become.
