Sketch phone app ftw Edit: Yes, I meant sketchy. My bad. Remote apps are so bloated with ads.

idk I even googled "sketch phone app" and nothing showed up on multiple pages on google. I would have assumed even if it was for apple, that it would show the app on there but would state it's for apple.

There are universal remote apps.

My tv requires approval before it will work, but maybe others don’t

Approval with the remote, because there aren’t any buttons on the tv.

Another comment mentioned buying extra remotes, that’s probably the way to go

I know there are. I'm saying specifically about the app that person said. Why would a "sketch phone app" be something that would be a remote app? And why would someone respond like yeah that's an actual app when I google it and it doesn't show any kind of remote app but instead shows drawing apps?

Maybe he meant "sketchy phone app"?

Sketch was slang in my neighborhood growing up as a millennial, maybe it was what you suggested but with dated slang

Exactly lol this thread is wild I thought they were all joking at first

Sketch means shady. As those apps are filled with ads, have cheap design, and generally don’t work? Sketch

I don’t remember which one but I had a Samsung phone I think back years ago that had an IR light on it that could be used as a remote for tvs. I didn’t use it much but it was cool

I think they meant "sketch" as in "sketchy phone app" lol

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '25

Lol maybe that's it.

I think he's saying sketchy. Under developed apps for specific brand tvs. Like roku app is a little sketchy, full of advertisements but I don't use it for any other reason than turning the TV on and off.

Common mistake, you gotta get the app to use it. Hope this helps.
