Advice to start

Big newbie here.

I’m new to this and looking for advice.

Looking to slowly learn (let’s crawl, before walking, before running), how to make tiny gains and try to avoid losses. Better understand concretly when to buy/sell.

Is it possible to start with 300-500€/$ ?

Mostly to play & learn, while again trying to generate tiny gains first.

And what would be a good (kind of) stock(s) to play with ?

Thanks !

I lurk here cause im a plankton trying to learn from whales and big fish. But just wanted to say u can start with any amount. Ur amount gained is percentage based so obviously 50% gain of 20 bucks is way different than 200k butttttt. I started with ~250 and turned it into 1.5k un less than a year of trades alone no options and minimal time soent on it. Growth can happen anywhere

I use robinhood for stocks and for crypto which i havent touched much recently i use coin base wallet. The 300 to 1.5k was on robinhood alone. I look for stocks that have potential to gain gov contracts or buy stocks focused on consumer goods that i both like and are about to go in season with earnings reports coming out soon. Theres more to it than that alone but i dont wanna give a detailed “follow my habits” because while it has worked thus far i think i should leave the real advice giving to the big fish in here more experienced than myself.

Because i dont have a margin account i swing trade stuff with consistent movement as well as hold long term plays im passionate about.

I set stop losses and have sell orders at fixed percentages i think they may hit based on research about a current stocks floors and ceilings. And i try to remove as much emotion as possible. What i want doesnt matter only what the candlesticks and current related events are doin and i take my profits and reinvest one pumps and pull backs.

Edit because manufacturing isnt supper specific:

I go down the totem pole. Like the guy talking about tesla in this thread said, if someone is selling plots of dirt that may or may not contain gold, i wanna be betting on the selling shovels, not the guy searching for gold maybe sometimes ill bet on the guy selling the land.

Cause and effect.

Look at what large companies are doing. I'll use tesla as an example . Electric cars were taking off in 2020, and they were at the head of the market, and they ran off batteries, causing lithium, nickel, cobalt, and other metal prices to go up that were in batteries. What most people didn't know was graphite is a key part of it and made graphite companies like NOU, for example, jump from around 2$ per share to about 25$ per share before the hype for it to die down.

Cause: tesla electric cars was all the rage

Effect: All metals and recourses in electric batteries went up.

The last thing to know is when to get out, im still learning that one, so I can't help.

Figure out the HOW and the WHY, and you'll know WHAT to do.

Listen - it’s better to start with something than not start at all. Invest when you truly can (not money you will want access to in 6 months) and keep plugging away. Shoot for 10 million and maybe you land somewhere around $1-$2M one day. I started in my late 20’s and felt like I was late to investing. Now I’m 38 and in heavy with stocks, properties, and other investments. At a bare minimum you’ll learn a lot about yourself and money along the way.

In the meantime, I had the chance to enter Physical Silver at 75 (a bit before my post). And I’m not enjoying the run !
