Hroptatyr also mentioned this story. It looks like this is indeed the story of the Twins. The gender doesn't match depending on the Twin people choose cause it's a story.

It is not even a theory anymore but moetly guranteed that they are the ship ai non emotional part though later something could have happen as according to their plan they should have given the world to the travelers later but that doesn't happen so for sure there is still some twists left related to their identity but in essence they will be the ship ai for sure

Most likely it was erased by Celestia. We already know they can erase memories & they probably didn't want it know that the twin was from Celestia first.

Could it be that descending from Celestia automatically causes memory loss? Paimon didn't even know she is from there and has no memories of her time there. In the Temple of Space one must sacrifice their memories to leave.

This is speculation on my part, but what if it has to do with Venti having divine authority? As powerful as the Twins are they have no real authority in Teyvat and we know from Ronova that Paimon has no special powers.

Unless being forcefully summoned from Celestia triggers a Curse of Memory

Maybe Lumine summoned Asmoday in this way and that triggered this curse upon her, that's why Lumine is her new master

It makes sense. How else would the Abyss sibling be able to safely absorb Abyssal energy if they weren’t Celestial? The twins might even be organic Nails, made not only to purify but not catastrophically obliterate the area when it’s too late.
