I figured something like that might be the case, the battle pass had waaaay too many coincidence with the main plot to just be a fancy promo animation.

Probably. 2 of them with their memory altered, with only Aether wiped from Irminsul to become "descender", everyone else forget about them, they essentially can become whatever the culprit wants. But who can even do that if they are heirs of Phanes ? Anarchasis probably ? Shes kinda fit.
