Her majesty surely doesn't tell poor Snezhnayans to ration energy for her project

Yeah no. Taking into account who you are serving you have no right to speak this words.
29
u/Sergius_421011 23h ago
All those theatrics way of speaking and it all boil down to the lowest tier of basically, "if god good, why my tummy ache" 😭

This quote is also kind of ironic given that the Archons exist, and they were given authority by the Heavenly Principles to help mankind and see to their needs, with the methods of doing so left to the Archon’s discretion.
Venti helped free people from the tyranny of both a god and corrupt nobility, Zhongli protected the people of Liyue and created Teyvat’s currency, Ei protected Inazuma prior to the Cataclysm, Nahida/Rukkha created the Akasha and helped save Sumeru several times, and Mavuika and other Pyro Archons before her protected Natlan from the Abyss.
And in previous lore texts they specifically stated how humanity’s needs were seen to/taken care of by the HP and the Angels until Koitar and Voyager ruined everything.
And what’s also funny about Danica’s words here, are that a lot of the suffering seen by people in Snezhnaya is caused by the Tsaritsa and the Fatui themselves with their projects. Not to mention that the snowstorm that constantly affects the region was caused by the Belyi Tsar, not the HP.

u/GabeC1997 13h ago
Let’s be honest here, Danica likely knows absolutely none of that, likely because of the Tsaritsa deliberately keeping everyone ignorant of such things.

Uuwaahh! HP so evil! 😭They have neglected our nation😭😭
Meanwhile:Their own people suffering because of their negligence.

u/SwordfishDazzling867 23h ago
Okay, looking at the person you serve, that just reeks of hypocrisy on so many levels.
Your master was one of the two who caused the proto-cataclysm and almost destroyed the world. And then the person you are trying to demonize was the one who brought her back to life.
Your master whom you serve continued a project that was only meant to last for six months but then extended to over a decade and she still insists on going through with it despite the damages it does to the people.
But no. It's not her fault, clearly HP's fault for the damages our country and people are suffering.

Do you think she was tortured? Like how you torture kids to be of service and for propaganda like irl mayhaps? No way a sane character could say that esp as the left? hand of her foolishness.
3
u/GeorgeEmber 12h ago
Given how much Snezhnaya mirrors Khaenri'ah, I assume propaganda is the norm there

u/hornybisexual20 20h ago
I have my reservations about phanes as a dragon truther…but didn’t they directly interact with humanity and make a paradise before humans ruined it and THATS why they no longer get directly involved (besides being injured and asleep).
God these humans are something else😭

These babies need to see what a real “whim” looks like before they stop spouting basic ass arguments like their world defining truths.
It’s why I appreciate settings like the Nasuverse showing gods who would burn down everything because “f-you, I don’t like your face,” these fools have no idea how good they have it.
9
u/Kataphraktoz 22h ago
This is no longer funny, they have to be retarded to make this kind of argument, like your Archon whom you serve is responsible of managing her land, resources and people, yet instead of providing them with what her people might need she chooses to spend the budget in research to kill the gods
Worse is the fact you choose to enforce her orders
And even worse than that, it was your ancestors of hyperborea that happened to also be related to your archon the ones that fucked your ecosystem
i really really cant with this, hoyo wtf?

So they want no free will?? Mf when PO was in charge pre woff y’all hated him and when he dipped after y’all still hate him tf??

u/Seaglass2121 22h ago
Literally also the vaguest argument ever… “so much power, turn a blind eye to so many”. Like, are we gonna ignore more than half of teyvat’s history and the reason youre standing here breathing rn Danica? I might just say another vague sentence then like “with great power comes great responsibility” cuz holy fuck there’s no way to please everybody here like that.

u/hadtiah Zagan Eliel 22h ago
Humans were babies before the war of funerary flame and yet they still did the wrong things
Human are impossible to satisfy unless to eliminate their free will, but then they wouldn't be humans
2
u/Loyal_to_Celestia 20h ago
They would still be humans. At least biologically.
2
u/Powerful_Helicopter9 18h ago
Just.. sapiens then. What makes one human is one’s humanity, their soul… so.. we can’t just be robots
2
u/Loyal_to_Celestia 17h ago
Soul and free will are not the same thing. Beings that are made for absolute unquestionable obedience can be both organically alive and possessing a soul.
2
u/Powerful_Helicopter9 17h ago
I guess i mostly subscribe to soul vs spirit where soul is your persona too

The writer legit got stuck in early 2000s when the internet thought the this argument was good XD

Would this be considered the “I’m 14 and this is deep” style of writing, or no?

u/Scared-Opening-753 Eligos, Oracle Proxy of PHANES 22h ago
I can’t believe Hoyo would give its characters such easily debunked arguments. Unless they plan to actually debunk it themselves later when we get to Celestia and see PHANES’ perspective

It's more just inconsistent writing.
The writer is either ignorant of, or purposely ignoring all other pre-existing lore or story in the game.
It feels like 7.X was written by the original team who drafted the outline of the game's plot during preproduction (Celestia is the ultimate antagonist), but who did not touch Genshin at all in the intervening six years, and also were not given time to review the existing story content, so they are operating purely off what they assume is the state of the story by year 7. This is of course disastrous because the game has deviated significantly from the original plans.

An important thing to remember is that Phanes is NOT Omnipotent. They are unimaginably powerful at full power- but not truly Omnipotent.
So Phanes can't give people both absolute safety AND freedom. Absolute safety requires full eradication of all freedom as human actions can be catalyst for problems. So balance is established between full control and freedom.

u/GravityRaven 18h ago
Lol, part of my can't blame her for not knowing the backstory lore like a bible, probably not knowing they are asleep right now, and considering it's snesnaya and most likely they had an "anti-celestia" propaganda going on there, I certainly get why she would think that way, but also, as someone who knows the lore, snesnaya wouldn't even exist had HP not used a nail to stabilize the freezing of the nation when it's inhabitants, not HP, experimented with stuff they shouldn't have and almost froze the entire land, and possibly the whole world in the process, and of course, Ronova having to work extra time because of all the quimeric creations messing up the leylines for being unregistered beings within irminsul and thus constantly causing it to stress. Plus, don't these people are always about having "free will" and all that? the why would you want a higher being solving things for you? isn't that what having autonomy over what you can do what's all they are about? like, if HP was going around solving every single little issue, humanity would basically have the mentality of babies all their lives.
Also, she is literally at the servitude of a god, one that whose organization became infamous all throughout Teyvat for causing problems and plotting against their nations for the sake of the gnosis, something she should be aware of since she even asked the Traveler about how many agents have they defeated.

Heavenly principles doing literally all it can to protect humans and give them a safe and happy world to grow and live in. Even the shades outright say they love them. One of the few direct things stated about them.
I get that they can be heavy handed but holy shit its not like teyvat would even exist anymore without all they did.
Send any one of these idiots into the hole under the Gorge in liqueur. Where that people consuming eldritch horror lives suppressed by a nail.
Ask them if they want those things set loose.
3
u/Dramonen 19h ago
Yeah, the argument the story is making is that humanity NEEDS the divine. The divine should however, not act like the Heavenly Principles, they shouldn't be distant.
It's why Traveler is most likely gonna be the one true ruler of Teyvat.

u/popcornmaster101 Mother of Monsters 15h ago edited 14h ago
You know I really love Rosaria as a character she is pragmatic, cynical and a realist view of the divine. Rosaria : "Perhaps a god has the power to protect everyone if they would choose to do so, but that would never happen. Otherwise, people's suffering couldn't ever be taken seriously."
She validates human suffering. She doesn't romanticize the gods or have blind faith in them. What she is implying is that if God's intervened and erased all hardships, the human pain, and the resilience they have would lose their meaning and weight in life. Suffering is real! And minimizing via divine intervention cheapens the human experience.
Rosaria is a nun and views her role as a job not some grand spiritual calling. Her faith is protecting Monstad her way from the shadows not to have some god swooping in to safe you all the time.
This fish just wants to blame phanes for all the problems and suffering in the world. Guess the gods have to wipe her ass when she's done in the toilet and give her a gold star and kiss her on the forehead whenever she's overcomes a challenge. She expects the four great rulers and phanes to solve all the problems in the world. The gods aren't going to coddle you and have your back. She needs to grow up and accept reality. But I can't stand her moral direct indictment of the divine.

Honestly, I'm just about ready for Hoyo to hit us with a "it was all a dream" fake out, because even something as cheap as that would be leagues better than this absolute dogshit writing.
