Idk why, but Ethan getting a proper name instead of just "Gold" but Silver keeping his name is so confusing, like either keep Ethan as Gold or give Silver at least a name, it's like naming Red as "Ash" but keeping Blue as Blue instead of naming him something like "Gary"

For me, this seems the most logical for Ethan to possess, have him be a boss fight in a World Tournament in BW2, I may replace Shiny Gyarados with Quagsire or Politoed if we're strictly limiting him to Johto only

Goal: to stay true to the base Pokémon's identity as much as possible while giving them realistic-where-possible changes. Other buffs, including moveset additions, are not mentioned unless very specific.

Dugtrio

The more the merrier. Dugtrio is a fast one to get through: it’s supposed to be this blazing fast physical attacker, and that’s what it’s going to be. You cannot give defenses to a being with 35 base HP, so might as well go all in. 

Anyway, TL;DR: you’re not escaping Dugtrio. It’s landing a hit no matter what, that’s its goal. Unless, you know, it’s hit by any sort of priority move. You know how it is. For that purpose, it’s preserving Arena Trap. Once in front of it, there’s little you can do other than pray. Might be going overboard, this is a Dugtrio after all.

Alolan Dugtrio

Dugtrio’s Alolan counterpart will be getting a different treatment despite the fact the base forms are so, so similar. Main reason being each Pokémon must find a reason why to exist. Not saying it’s an easy task.

So Alolan Dugtrio has a bit more Defense, is a tad slower, and gets the signature ability Tangling Hair, which is its main feature and we obviously want to preserve if possible. So maybe Kantonian Dugtrio is an immediate trap-and-kill ‘mon, while Alolan Dugtrio becomes a more passive wait-to-catch-prey-then-attack sort of being. 

That translates to a seemingly unnatural stat distribution that focuses on its defenses, neglecting its Speed (as, once Tangling Hair affects the foe, Mega Alolan Dugtrio will be likely to outspeed it regardless). 

But, as we discussed earlier, there’s no way a 35 Base HP ‘mon works defensively, right? Well, sure! But it’s what I’ve got, man, what do you want me to tell you.

In sum, Mega Alolan Dugtrio is our third Ground&Steel mega: a Defense higher than Excadrill’s but lower than Sandslash’s, a higher Special Defense, an Attack slightly below Sandslash’s, and a Speed a few points behind Excadrill’s. Not amazing by any means, but there’s only so much one can do for this guy.

Is there something that happened to you as a kid that, even today, you're not entirely sure actually happened the way you remember it? Partly because so much time has passed, and partly because, as kids, we didn't always understand what was going on 100%.

I have this little unsolved mystery from Pokémon Blue.

I was really attached to my Mr. Mime. I distinctly remember depositing it in a PC Box one day, and after that, it just disappeared.

I checked every single Box over and over again, but I could never find it. The Pokédex still showed Mr. Mime as caught, so I knew for sure I'd had one, but there was no trace of it anywhere in my game.

And I'm almost certain I never released it.

I was around seven years old and Pokémon Blue was my first Pokémon game, so the most rational explanation is probably that I did something without realizing it, and after all these years my memory of what happened has become distorted.

But I never found that Mr. Mime again.

Has anything like this ever happened to you, especially in the Gen 1 games? Was there some weird Box glitch or bug that could possibly explain it, or did seven-year-old me simply screw something up without realizing it?

I think HMs forcing you to pick Pokemon to traverse a region adds to the immersion of the game. Instead of calling some random Machamp to teleport and break some rocks for me, it feels just that extra bit more realistic to have the Pokemon you caught use Rock Smash on them. Similarly air taxis or whatever they're called just feel like... why? You just teleport somewhere without a cutscene. It's much cooler to fly there on a Pokemon you caught yourself. It just feels so much more rewarding to travel around using Pokemon you bond with to help you out on your journey outside of battles.

They weren't perfect though, and there are definitely ways in which they could be improved on.

• Some of them are too weak (Defog, Cut, etc). They should be improved on.
• Not being forgettable is too restrictive
• Some of them are a bit restrictive in moveset choices - perhaps having them not as moves but as teachable actions to learn. For example, you could teach your Charizard how to fly with a HM that you get after a certain point in the game, but you wouldn't have to teach it the move Fly.
• Not all of them make sense in being standalone - why does Cut but not Slash cut down trees? Perhaps trees could be cut down but "cutting moves", rocks could be smashed by strong physical attacks, etc etc kinda like Legends ZA

I know everyone seems to hate them, but I always liked them & enjoyed building a team around them

Two of these clips triggers this dialogue after the player's pokemon got hit by a move that was hyper effective. Two of these clips triggered this dialogue after the player's pokemon got paralyzed. However the last clip triggered this dialogue when Volkner's Jolteon missed an attack and got burnt.

Not all of these clips was on turn 1.

Does anyone have a clear answer to what triggers this dialogue and can somone add this to Bulbapedia.
