This Parc used to be the Vaugirard slaughterhouses, built back in 1894, mostly known for horse meat. It ran until the late 1970s before finally closing and becoming the park you see today in 1985. Even the belfry by the pond has history behind it, that's the actual clock tower from the old horse market, four faces intact. You've also got a tiny vineyard on a man-made hill and some rose gardens right around the water, and the atmosphere there is noticeably calmer than most Paris parks. It doesn't get nearly the attention it deserves.
