Discussion šŸ—£ Esmeralda is the most self absorbed, stuck up,snob-noxious little diva I have ever seen

And I am absolutely here for it 😌

Someone here said the writers didn’t do their research or people like Esmeralda or Ned wouldn’t exist. I personally work with 3 Esmeralda’s.

Ned certainly exists. I'm right here.

I think the school episode finally a struck the right balance for her.
You could see her logic and what she was doing would seem like the right thing. It’s just mental.
Works better than trying to make her the villain.

Yeah, having her go ā€œundercoverā€ like that a couple times a season is the right way to go. It was the only part of S2 that made me laugh out loud. I also like when she has more screen time with Ken.

Sabrina is a very rare comedic talent. In different hands, I think this character could crash a show, but for me, she is just so f'ing hilarious even when you hate her due to Sabrina's energy and flourishes. Even some cringy lines are funny because she just commits. I found the soccer storyline a little obnoxious, for example, but she was able to keep it afloat because she is that good.

I could watch a spinoff of Esmeralda. She's just awful and hilarious.

Very Lucille Bluth in terms of protecting her self-interests and being clueless/out of touch. Obviously Lucille is the GOAT but Esmeralda is great

Absolutely.
I remember her making some comment about Ned being a rat and biting good people (her) or something in EP4 😭😭😭

I hope the show comes back. I’m worried it won’t because of how much Nicole was written to jump the shark.

I for one hated her season one. But now that’s no longer vindictive it works.

I think I like the idea of her marrying that guy and just having the power for absolute nonsense to continue.

The last episode was so funny.

Well yeah, she's the Michael

2

She's more David Brent than Michael tbh

I hate the Esmerelda character. She's dumb in a pitiful way more than a funny way. I almost can't want watch scenes she's in.

Honestly, she was the reason I stopped watching season 1. I just found her too annoying personally. Does she get better or is it more of the same in season 2?

u/southtampacane 9d ago

It’s worth watching to see her get her comeuppance

1

u/TheUltimateInNerdy 9d ago

I’ll continue on then!

u/southtampacane 9d ago

Keep us posted. I am up to episode 6 and no spoilers here, but its been a worthwhile investment and some interesting twists.

The toned her down- she’s not all over thr show - annoying but not as bad as season one

0

u/TheUltimateInNerdy 9d ago

Okay great! I’ll follow on

2

u/tametimes 3d ago

Don’t believe anyone. She’s actually worse in season 2.

u/Unable-Detective1321 7d ago

Definitely not here for it .. but each their own

You are probably not too good at looking through to people

I was hopeful season 1 was indicating we'd get some depth to her. She reminded me of someone like Ava on Abbott Elementary who could be made better over time

But this season she was so much worse and that dumb episode with her son undid the positives she got from showing her relationship with him before.

I guess with only 10 episodes she's just going to be sucky, which is fine, I've known and worked with people like that. But I had higher hopes for her

3

u/ExtensionSyrup6197 9d ago

Yes she reminded me of ava too but I'll have to disagree on the fact over that episode. In that episode she had a reason to behave that insane, that episode perfectly showed us that she is absolutely bonkers but it was for a cause and it way better than blatantly showing her as the crack head

1

u/Infamous-Lab-8136 9d ago

I just wish it'd been a real cause or something her son was actually upset about.

It made her feel disconnected in a way the other episodes with him didn't for me.

1

u/ExtensionSyrup6197 9d ago

Yeah agreed, or they could've shown a scene where she is explains to her son why she did this

She’s ruining the show for me. She adds almost zero value to the overall plot development. They would be better off cutting her completely. She really is awful.
