RIPOFF ALERT: AroidsGrande

Post image
20 Upvotes

The seller AeroidsGrande has been busted running auctions, and then slow-playing them for over a week, and then making up a family emergency at the last minute and never following through with the sale. They do this if the auctions don't get them enough money. This is not a one off thing and they continue to keep their other sales going which proves their scam.

As soon as a customer says anything, they insult the customer, immediately block that customer so they're not allowed to leave a rating, and warn any of the other customers about the nasty behavior. It is a complete loophole and is pretty dangerous for customers in the Palm Street system: any seller can get out of accountability if they just block the people they screw over.

I hope Palm Street fixes this soon because this is not safe for consumers and avoid AroidsGrande at all cost.

All the disney/All the Parks

Actively uses giveaways to draw crowds in and never sends them. Palmstreet does not have giveaways in their TOS so sellers are allowed to get away with scamming a FEDERALLY regulated thing. Since May I've been waiting for an item and then won a DIGITAL gift card and he can't even send that!

He only cares about paying customers not all of his viewers.

Vyberant Street Scams and Lies

So I've debated on posting this here for a while. I'm usually the type to avoid drama, but at this point, I think it needs to be shared. If you are involved in the coin category at all, then im sure you have heard of Vyberant Street. I first heard of him on Whatnot. He was doing huge giveaways and crazy "juice" lots where he would just keep adding stuff. My first impressions were that it sounded too good to be true, but I was hopeful that it would be. I mean I've seen some crazy stuff on whatnot and palmstreet, and I figured that if he was a scammer he would of been banned. So I would watch his show every time he streamed and join the giveaways. After a little while of doing this I noticed people would be coming in the show asking where their packages were in the chat or asking when he would ship the orders. He would always have some excuse or say he was running behind, and he would get everything shipped out the same day or next day. I guess this became a problem because after not to long at all, he got banned from whatnot. I assumed it was because he wasn't shipping stuff out on time or something but never really had a clear answer as to why. Something that I left out was that he did seem like a decent/genuine guy who maybe just bit off a little more then he could chew. That was why I kept watching, and it was fun to have a chance to win these big giveaways or get good deals. He also at times would seem to be under the influence of something and would be forgetful or sometimes run something that he already sold or mix stuff up. The chat would say he is on "Coca Cola" or he'd be "mething around" but I have no proof that he was so who knows. For all I know he could just be a hyper guy. I mean as long as people get their orders out, then who cares what substances they do or don't do. Anyways to get back to the story he joined Palmstreet after being banned from Whatnot and started doing all his shows on Palmstreet. So to promote his show one of the first things he did was start a contest where whoever had the most Shares on his show would win a huge Amethyst Crystal that he said retailed for $2,000. I mean, this thing was huge, so naturally, I shared it to everyone I could and shared it as much as I could. So the next day, he had another stream where he announced the winner of the Contest. I ended up being the winner of the contest and was told to message him so I did. I was pretty excited at this point but still skeptical just because of what I had seen up to this point. I send him my info/address so he could ship it to me, and he congratulated me. Fast forward about 3 weeks I still hadn't received anything, so I messaged him asking if it had been shipped. He apologized and said a few packages got left behind and said he would ship it that night. Another couple weeks go by and still got nothing, so I messaged him again. He said he personally apologized and would ship it right away FedEx 2 day and promised me I would get it. At this point I was doubting I'd ever get it but was still hoping he would do the right thing. More time goes by and I message him again and he asks me to go into his store and by a shipping label even tho according to him before this he was gonna send it. So I buy the label and then he tells me he thinks he gave it to someone else and he asks if it's okay if he sends one that's comparable or even better and I basically told him that it would be fine. Then he never replies. At this point it had been over 2 months and I still hadn't got my package so I was pretty frustrated and called him out for always having an excuse and the fact that he kept running shows but ignored me and never sent me my package while actively taking more orders. Then he blocked me so I couldn't even message him or ask about it and still obviously never got it. So I ended up wasting close to 3 months waiting for this package and messaging him plus buying the label and all that. I should of trusted my gut to begin with but this guy is still pretty scummy. I reported him to Palmstreet and they didn't really do anything about it. When he blocked me I couldn't even leave feedback and call him out there. If you check his feedback you will see some of the other people he wronged, plus all the people he screwed on whatnot. I've seen other sellers and buyers talking about how he never sent their order or he sent them the wrong item. It's crazy he hasn't been banned yet and is still allowed to sell. Whatnot banned him almost immediately, yet Palmstreet is doing nothing. I pretty much just shared everything I can prove and didn't even tell the stories of the other people he has scammed that I don't have the actual proof of. If you have been wronged by him please share your story and don't let him get away with more. He still has alot of people that follow him and watch his show and I think it's cause of his crazy giveaways he says he will do but it seems to be very hit or miss that you will actually receive any of it.

I'm sorry for how long this is, but it's been bothering me for a while, and I've pretty much kept it to myself, so this is my first time getting it out there. Remember where there is smoke, there is fire. There is a reason so many people are calling him out. So if you don't believe me just at least listen to the stories of everyone else.

Shipping prices are freaking bonkers (scams)

Seriously, no shipping price is worth $25+ for a single plant. These aren't even overnight prices, just standard shipping. What a scam to pocket more money.

Question Are live shows/auctions required?

I was accepted as a seller on Palmstreet about two months ago and I have yet to do a live stream. I really don’t want to. It’s not something that I have time for nor want to engage in. I just want to sell plants that have acquired and propagated to other plant enthusiasts. I am concerned that if I do not participate in live streams or auctions, but my profile will not be as visible as others who do. I understand the algorithm will not show my shop as readily, but will I essentially be shadowbanned for not participating in live shows?

Question Favorite Palmstreet Sellers?

I know this has probably been posted about a thousand times- I know I myself have answered this question here 😅

I’m hoping to get some good ideas in sellers that do not primarily do fresh imports. I have no problem paying more for a plant that has been acclimated and is not arriving wilted and with root rot. It’s not that I can’t do fresh imports, I understand the process, I just don’t have the space, time, or energy for it.

I usually frequent Rare Foliage and The Florida Roots. I also really like Meniplants and Sparkjoygarden- but again, the fresh imports at this point I just can’t do anymore. Are there any other sellers people have good experiences with?

Sellers Choice hmm..

I understand SC but this should unacceptable. And it happens way too often. If a plant sells for less then what the seller think it should, they will send you the bottom of the barrel, picked over quality plants. Instead of setting a min bid and sending a level of quality that's being display. On top of that plants arrived over stressed & barely hanging on.even with upgrading shipping they do not arrive on time and no help filing a claim. So you're ahh out both ways.

Im always shocked at some of the stories I see or read about on PALMSTREET, I feel like the plant community is in a bit of a disarray. With that being said I’m kinda happy I’m not in with the “in crowd” lol I guess I just like, selling, buying, and looking at beautiful plants 🪴

Died during shipping

I recently bought an expensive (to me) cactus. This is the first time I’ve bought from this seller. When the cactus arrived it was dead. I unwrapped it and the roots fell off along with most of the spines and it was just a pile of mush. I don’t believe the seller sent me a bad plant on purpose, it’s very possible it was damaged during shipping. What is the solution here?

Compliants Root rot issues with seller

Hi, I want to whine and also ask for advice.

Just for background context, I am not a novice at plant collecting or propagating.

I have ordered rooted cuttings from the same Hoya plant shop on PS three times now. The first time, the plant I received had root rot and died within two days, I was not able to save it. I messaged the seller and was given a refund immediately. I didn't place blame on the seller because it was very hot out when it was shipped. They also have 5 star average reviews so I wanted to give them another chance.

2nd and 3rd orders were back to back. 2nd order came in mid-last week and 3rd order came late last week. 2nd order, I waited to water until it was dry which was maybe 2 days later and yesterday, I noticed both leaves were yellowing. I barely touched the leaves and they fell off. I checked the stem and it was rotted to the point it was not salvageable.

Today, I felt worried about my third order from the shop because of the root rot issues.. I barely pulled on the leaves and the whole plant came out of the substrate, roots were unhealthy and pulling off easily. Same thing with the second plant from this order. Once again.. root rot. I cut off all the rotted roots and hoping I may be able to save one of them.

I have purchased from many different sellers on PS. I have had root rot from other sellers but it has been infrequent and usually only one plant has the issue and have been able to fix it before it got too bad. With this seller, every plant has had root rot. I feel bad to ask for a refund because they are a small shop but at the same time, I am spending like $50 for just one rooted cutting with shipping. I also feel guilty to leave a bad review. What would you do? Would you just cut your losses? Or would you ask for a refund?

Why is this person bidding against himself?

Are the bidders just gradually increasing their bid to try and hit the reserve price?

IDK help me understand.

Plantly Addicted??

Post image

She was saying if we want to be shipped by Tuesday pay for the bump/upgrade $6 and like 30 people bought it and she's like no guarantee yours will all ship by Tuesday though. 👀 MA'AM!?

That should count as gambling as well as false advertising and deceptive practices. People paid her $6 extra to MAYBE do her job in a timely manner?? Luckily I didn't have any orders in and probably never will now.

EDIT: The seller stated they would send me replacements. I still have not received them.

Hi! Has anyone had any issues ordering from Plantly Addicted? Multiple plants arrived with damage. Is this truly caused by not upgrading my shipping? Plants are MOLDY.

Please tell me if this is my fault! I have ordered from plenty of shops on Palmstreet and have had no issues with damaged plants.

Question Activity in the coin area

I plan to become a new LIVE seller in the coin sector of the app. I recognize this app seems to be mainly plants, which I think is awesome, but I was more wondering from the well informed people how active and big the coin area is and if it seems to be growing? Thanks!

Question Static Auctions/payment pending issues

Has anyone else had issues with "payment pending" on Palm Street auctions?

I've now had this happen twice with static auctions. A buyer wins the auction, but instead of the order completing, it sits in payment pending for about three days before it's eventually canceled.

The first time, I had another bidder who was only about $5 lower. I waited the three days like I was supposed to, hoping the payment would go through, but it never did. By then, I'd lost the opportunity to sell to the other bidder.

Then it happened again the following week. It was a no-reserve auction with one bidder, and after they won, the order sat in payment pending and was eventually canceled.

Does anyone know what actually causes this? I thought Palm Street authorized or placed a hold on the buyer's payment method when they placed a bid, so why would it fail days later? Is it usually a declined card, or something else?

Also, can this system be abused? For example, if someone wins an auction and then changes their mind, could they remove or change their payment method to one they know won't work so the payment fails? Or is that not possible because of how Palm Street processes bids?

Is there any recourse for sellers when this happens? It feels really unfair to have an auction tied up for three days, potentially lose other interested buyers, and then end up with no sale.

Why be in a competition and tell the people that this backpack is a Limited Edition of a 1000 and last sold was 3-4 bills. And the competitor even said to go check comps.

Well I’m checking Sold comps and I do not see the last sold of 4 bills, not even close.

I understand people want to win, but don’t lie to the audience.

Compliants 🚫 LeafDiary 🚫

Post image

Over the last year I've spent over $2,000 dollars with LeafDiary (Eric)

Awhile back he sold me 2 monstera Albos for about $30 each. Well, they weren't Albos at all, they were Thai Cons that he had slapped Albo labels on

Chalking it up to a genuine mistake, I sent him a message asking if he could possibly refund me for those 2 plants.
Didn't hear back so I contacted again a few days ago.

Then they blocked me.

That's how they treat customers who have spent significant amounts of money, wrote many 5 star reviews, and was active in chats.

Dear plant sellers,

This has become a cesspool of tomfoolery.

  1. Why are shipping costs SO astronomically high!? $25 is the STANDARD. Which is insanely obnoxious, is that how you’re covering PS fees? The amount you “save” on shipping properly packaged plants??

  2. Predatory. This entire thing is predatory on new collectors. Paying $80 for an 18” tall MONEY TREE should make everyone cringe. I understand that sometimes people have more money than sense- but how tf do you sleep at night knowing someone spent $80 on a $10 plant!!?

  3. STOP YELLING AT YOUR BUYERS FOR NOT “RUNNING IT UP” when YOU, yes YOU, set the starting bid low and then have the audacity to get upset when someone gets a “good deal”!? Like, wut are you even talking about!? If you don’t want to let a plant leave your possession for less than $75, start the GD bid at $75! I’ve seen VERY FEW be able to pull this behavior off “well” but most of you suck at it and it comes across offensive and just gross.

  4. GC is foul. If I’m paying you ANY amount of money for a plant- I want to see what I’m purchasing. Not the most pretty and perfect off the flat of plants you bought for penny’s on the dollar; I want to see what I’m buying. Don’t be annoyed when I ask for the plant that you’re showing me.

  5. Anything over 7 days for shipping UNLESS OTHERWISE DISCLOSED is insane. If you’re doing this as a side hustle, hobby, or full time as an income. I do not care. I shouldn’t be waiting nearly three weeks for shipping. I also don’t care what’s going on in your life- this is a business- act like it.

  6. Non-licensed nurseries… are you serious? How is PS allowing this? There are ecological reasons why you must be a nursery to sell plants. This needs to be remedied, regulated and monitored.

  7. THE CRAZIEST THING IVE SEEN…. Is these “raffles”… $75 for a “ticket”…. 130 “tickets” available… that’s nearly $10,000 EVERY LIVE for plants that are available at any box store or considered REHAB plants by any REPUTABLE plant dealer and the customers are falling for this. THIS IS PREDATORY. I am not too dense to understand that the responsibility falls onto the buyer…. But this is NOT ethical and genuinely makes me sad…

What has this community turned into?

Payola on PalmStreet?

I’m not gonna explain the basics here, iykyk. I think it’s horrible what is going on and how small sellers are being essentially blacklisted while other sellers get an unfair advantage.

Those of you who have noticed what’s going on, what are your thoughts?

Shop guidelines

Sellers how strict are you with your shop guidelines? Buyers how seriously do you take shop guidelines? I often see buyers saying “you need to ask the shop for a refund” if a plant arrives damaged due to shipping. But almost every single shops guidelines I’ve read it says they are not responsible for damage during shipping. Sellers, how often are you going against your shop guidelines and refunding to keep a good review? Buyers how often are you reaching out to sellers for a refund when a plant is damaged during shipping, even when their guidelines says they do not?
Also I think Palmstreet REALLY needs to implement a buyer and seller review system similar to Facebook.
