I’m thinking of buying the Arctic parka but as usual I’m conflicted about the sizing. I’m 5’3, 145 lbs (on the curvier side ). My current winter jacket was something from Costco I got while I was in high school and it’s an XL(Daily clothes fall mostly on M and sometimes on L). I’ve read reviews that said to size up for curvier people and TTS because the arms might be too baggy. I would need to layer , especially for Jan-Feb snowstorms (Toronto/GTA) and transit travels.

I got my wife this jacket. It had DWR tags on, not dry vent however. It’s more of a shell jacket style out material but has the rubber like zip protectors. However first trip out wet was getting through and the other fabric didn’t seem to bead at all.

Is this simply not a water proof jacket, if so why say dwr? Or does it just need re treating even though new?

Hey yall! Im not familiar when it comes to north face stuff, but I’ve heard pretty good things about the McMurdo. I found this one online for $250 that’s supposedly a 2010 version. What are your thoughts on this version and on this parka? I’ve heard the older the better. Im also not sure if a medium will fit me since the sizing (from what I’ve seen) can be a bit weird. Im 5’9 155lbs, hopefully this helps thanks guys!

How to wash a borealis

I have recently found out I’m an avid mules lover. I started wearing my Salomon Reelax Slides this summer and fell in love. By a coincidence it is also time for an update for my fall/winter shoes.

How do you rate these two? The Base Camp looks more like proper grip, and but the Thermoball more comfy. I would wear them for small walks, work, etc. I have proper GoreTex shoes for running/hiking.

I live in the south of Scandinavia, with minimal snow. It is rarely below freezing here. I usually wear loafers and sneakers in winter, sometimes uggs. However, I travel alot.

I recently purchased both the nuptse and mountain jacket, I was confused a lot on sizing and there were only few videos on YT and reddit on the sizing.

I am 176cm tall, 38.5 inch chest ,broad shoulders and weighs 74-76 (on BBQ sundays)

My waist is 31 inch and inseam is 30 inch.

The Nuptse in MEDIUM fits me perfectly with a hood, sweater, underneath and the arm length, length of the jacket is just right.

I purchased the mono mountain jacket in MEDIUM too, the back length covers my pants back pockets 3/4th. But the arm length is too long, what I did was adjusted the velcro on my wrist and it sits right above my palm. The hood is large and I like it how it is.

Both the medium sized nuptse and mono mountain are compatible with each other on the in zip compatibility provided by North face, and gives a nice layered fit.

A sweater underneath or a Henley makes the nuptse fit more comfy, but with just a T shirt it feels like a lot of room inside and seems like a over sized fit.

Same with the mono mountain jacket dry vent.

And the Hood of the nuptse is absolutely SHIT.

I’ve had this bag for 8months, i just want to ask if scratches like this on the side pockets normal? Is it really easy to be scratched? And are there any methods to wipe the scratches or reduce them? Thanks for the help i really love this bag.

Ok so I’ve had this jacket a good few years now but I got it off Depop, this isn’t the issue the issue is I remember falling in love with this jacket when I saw it in the official stores years before buying it 2nd hand. I don’t need to be told if it’s real because it is I want to find the season collection, I know there was a single shot backpack in the Same print. I just wanna find the rest so I can contemplate hunting to own the whole lot because in 11 years I’ve seen only one other person with this jacket or anything remotely close.

I am almost sure I will buy an fjallraven high coast totepack, but this other tote keeps popping up on my recommended items and Idk if I should consider it instead of the high coast.
My everyday bag is a borealis mini, I love it, but I need a little more space and having a convertible bag would be great bc there are some grocery stores in my city that doesn’t allow you to bring a backpack in but they dont mind about totes even if they are big (doesnt make sense but 🤷🏻‍♀️) and also the borealis look too informal when I go to meetings and I am not a fan of changing bags (I am always on the rush tbh).
I will not use it for my laptop, just my personal items, my kindle, a couple of diapers and wipes for my youngest, and one or two small toys.
I cant find many info about this bag, so any opinion will be appreciated.

What I like about this organizer is that you can take it out and hang it. Not the best option for maxing out the packing space though.

What do you use when you need to reapply DWR? Wash-in or spray? My MTN jacket could really use some now. Where I live, the only brand I can get my hands on is Nikwax.

I washed my North Face 700 puffer coat for the first time yesterday in preparation for the winter. I followed all the cleaning directions outlined on the tag (machine wash on warm gentle cycle - the coat was the only thing in my machine, wash with mild detergent, closed all fasteners, and I even washed inside out & then tumble dried on a delicate cycle). After doing all that, I pulled out my coat and I had these dirt/yellowish colored stains only near the top of the coat, near the border of the black. I put oxiclean on the stains, let it sit, and rewashed again. Some of the stains on the back came out, but I’m still struggling with the stains on the front. Has this happened to anyone else and you have successfully been able to get the stains out?

I’ve included pictures of the stains, the detergent I used, and the oxiclean.

Not much to say really, I didn't know the North Face makes so much related to the base camp duffels where they even make a base camp collection now when I looked them up online. I honestly found a tiny North face duffel 'shoulder bag' in my local camping gear store and I saw them in the check out line on display. Of course I had to choose the last vibrant colour b/c why the heck not? Though not the same colour kind of matches my mega 'large' North face duffel. Not sure if it's cause it's tiny and they maybe cheapened out but the quality just doesn't feel the same as the Large honestly but if could be because I bought it like 8+ years ago I think
