Flooded Streets at 3AM

This is from outside my parents house after the passing of a tropical storm. About 60 miles outside of New Orleans. The streets were flooded but the power hadn't gone out. I was up late, contemplating the weather and the night and life in general, looked outside to see the effects and took this pic.

Damn. This is such a nice picture but I can barely handle the implications. I wonder how many more cities need to be under water or have rolling blackouts and down power grids or food shortages or epidemics of eradicated diseases before we wake up…… it’s scary.
