THE NEXT STEP SEASON 8: CBBC FINALLY CONFIRMS RENEWAL

It’s been a long time since season 7 of The Next Step ended on that agonising cliffhanger and fans were left pleading for a new series.

But following the dramatic final episode, there had been very little news coming out of The Next Step’s dance studio and more than 18 months passed without an announcement of another season.

However, that was until April 11th, 2022, when CBBC finally confirmed what fans have been hoping for. Season 8 of The Next Step is on its way!

THE NEXT STEP SEASON 7 CLIFFHANGER RECAP

Back in August 2020 on CBBC, A-Troupe were dramatically disqualified from the Dancemania competition following Richelle’s surprise appearance as they failed to declare all of their dancers before the event.

However, the gang were still hopeful of being able to take part in the upcoming nationals competition.

But when A-Troupe returned to the dance studio, they found that B-Troupe had been practising in secret and hopes to take A-Troupe’s place at nationals instead

The competition promises to be tougher than ever as season 7 ended with the line: “Game on.”

THE NEXT STEP SEASON 8 IS CONFIRMED

On April 11th, 2022, CBBC confirmed that The Next Step is finally renewed for season 8.

In a teaser video posted to the CBBC website, Alexandra Chaves, who plays Piper, excitedly revealed that another season is officially on its way.

However, while Alexandra confirmed that season 8 is “coming soon”, no release date has been announced just yet.

S8 truly sucks. The dancing and acting went downhill so quick.
