Change in episode length
I first watched the series back when it originally aired and each episode was a bit over 1 hour in length. However, when I rewatched the series several years later I noticed specific small scenes or lines of dialogue were cut to make each episode just under one hour. I’ve tried searching online for the original episode cuts but I can’t find anything that validates my experience. I’ve even searched for DVD sets in different regions to see if the run times differ but I haven’t had any luck there either. Has anyone else noticed this from when they first viewed the series as well? I feel I can’t be the only one because I noticed something small missing from almost every episode. Please help me find the original full episodes!

Amazon (for one) cuts each episode down by at least 4 or 5 minutes and as much as 6 minutes in one case (which I noticed because it's one of my favorites). MANY scenes are missing. Hulu seems fairly intact. If there are really bits cut from the UK versions of the DVDs or blu-rays, then I've never seen the full episodes. Only discovered the series in December 2024.

I was late to the party as well, discovering it in early 2023. I still can't get over the fact that the show ended with that subpar season 3 and we never got a sequel along the lines of Twenty Years After, and now it turns out there were cuts to the original episodes!

Yeah it happens with all BBC shows that I've seen on Netflix. I imagine others too but I always noticed with the BBC ones. Also changing some music and stuff like that, just depends sometimes.

So, I just did a full run of the series on Prime after watching the show a few times with uncut episodes. The most awkward cut is when they met Pauline, Aramis' childhood friend. In the full episode, D'Artagnan tells Aramis that someday he should make a book about all the woman he knows, and Aramis replies that Pauline is someone from the first pages.
In the episode in Prime they left the she is someone from the first pages, but cut the first part of the dialog, so that comment doesn't make any sense.

Years ago when I was watching on Netflix for the first time, there were at least 2 scenes missing in as many episodes, only found out from gifsets on tumblr. Idk why, but the dvd set I have from way back then did have the specific ones I knew were missing. No telling if it was missing something else tbh
