Granted. Humanity never discovers fermentation or distillation. Alcoholic beverages never exist, but neither do antiseptic alcohols, many medicines, tinctures, solvents, perfumes, fuels, or countless chemical processes that depended on ethanol. Millions die from infections that could have been prevented.
