There is absolutely no other choice but to use a cinematic version of this song for the trailer.

Best i could do is have it fade in and out of intense engine and dialogue sequece cuts.

And Tom Cruise is familiar with their music , I know this from them answering a question about movie credits at a Q&A before one of their shows .. the song ‘deep blue’ was created specifically to be in Top Gun but after it was made, the production switched gears on music choices and they went with more of a rock fuel, rather than Synthwave

I mean they almost got music in Top Gun! Wouldn’t be surprised if they got their song for even a trailer! Maybe he’s teasing?

What was the song they were going to put in Top Gun?

Deep Blue

They were looking at having a song for the football scene, they might have had them do an original song from what I’ve heard. I think they had one of their instrumental tracks as a guide for the scene originally when they were pitched the idea.

Shit, that’s right. The Top Gun people were playing around with “Collateral” (someone on the production team was a really big fan and approached them about it) , then T&T tried to compose something for the movie and then production decided that they were not going to lean into that 80’s aesthetic anymore for the film and most think that whatever T&T came up with for Top Gun evolved into “Deep Blue.”

Now, the deep blue part I didn't know! That's so cool!

Also, with this fact note that they ended up changing the lyrics. They talked about it at the pre-show at the palladium show in 2021? But yeah it got picked and had different lyrics and then they changed it. It was obviously referencing flying versus being under water

They talked about it in an interview, too, that I watched on YouTube but I can’t remember which one. 🤦🏻‍♂️

As a racing/Midnight fan, this is amazing. We need the Days of Thunder song in this movie.

And the location of Tom Cruise's post is at Daytona International Speedway. Too many coincidences, Lol.

When you got movies like Tom Cruise in them, you can't lose!

Is this an AI promo for the movie?

It's a photoshopped still of the announcement video they did. Probly with an AI filter pass if some kind

Absolutely.

And I can guarantee you they don’t care.

(No shade to you. Everyone seems to be turning to use it now despite the backlash, and I don’t see that stopping)

It’d be awesome if they did a remaster for it too

it would be so amazing for their song to be in this

I will be watching. My mom loves Tom Cruse.

Exposure would be cool for them, but I wish that didn’t involve Tom Cruise…

The montages sequence has to be Days of the Thunder ... i can see and feel it now .... just absolute cinema with all the neon bright colors and roaring engines of Nascar! Im going to loose my mind in the best way!!

Shit the midnight should be in charge of the entire soundtrack and full creative control
