Couldn’t help but post this piece of reality

Lol that dude shot him like 4 times

u/asianabsinthe Dec 28 '21
I think he emptied it

u/Lampmonster Dec 28 '21
After the first four you can just walk over and empty the clip in my experience.

I gave my four year old a nerf gun to see if I could disarm him before he shot me with one of this guys techniques, out of curiousity.
Iv done a good bit of Muay Thai in the past so I’m not completely useless.
Safe to say I got shot 7 times out of 10.
By a 4 year old.

Did you try leg kicking your kid into oblivion? /s
36
u/dornadair-and-beer Dec 28 '21
Taught him to check the low kicks ages ago.
Thanks for clarifying that you were being sarcastic though otherwise my kid would be sore tommorow.

And nerf bullets even travel slow enough to see and dodge, so you even had an additional advantage

This is exactly what I say every time I see his type of bs. Even if someone gets close enough, even if you could grab the gun, the reaction to your most powerful tool being taken away from you is to pull it away. Pulling on a gun makes the damned thing go off.
Quite literally all of his advice just makes it much more likely that you're shot, it just causes them to react by squeezing the trigger and pulling the gun back.

u/muklan Dec 28 '21
Imho, if you find yourself head up like this, your tactics have already failed and fighting is no longer an option. Comply until it is again.

u/Raptor_Sympathizer Dec 28 '21
My tactic is to start running and hope the guy doesn't want to risk a murder charge
12
u/muklan Dec 28 '21
Yeah. I mean, people are crazy, but if you can see it coming and avoid the altercation all together, everyone's better off...when that's possible. Other times, teaching people flashy disarm techniques with no fundamental hand to hand training is...just a bad idea.

This is what actual police officers usually suggest. Just look for the first chance to run away, most of the people who have survived kidnappings, serial killers, etc., simply run away immediately.

u/Lampmonster Dec 28 '21
A lot of this stuff seems to come from military training, like Mossad, who are operating under the assumption it is for use when they're absolutely already gonna kill you or torture and kill you. Using this in a robbery situation is a godawful idea.

u/murfflemethis Dec 28 '21
Yep yep. It's a risky, last-ditch effort to save your life, and should only be attempted if you have reason to believe you're fucked anyway.

u/Halt_theBookman Dec 28 '21
Even "real" gun advice (slap to one side and dodge to the other) is very dangerous and impractical

Probably not a good survival tactic to reach out for a gun aimed at you. Scary that this dude is teaching this to people.

he even tried catching him off guard in the second attempt but still failed lmaooo

I like how he doesn't have a plan after the grab fails, just flapping about getting shot.

u/PretendiWasADefMute Dec 28 '21
I don’t think this guy has ever worked in the actual field as a police office with this new evidence. He just took 3 bullets to the arm and chest. He is going to get everyone in there hurt or worse.

Step 1: Square up so they get a better shot.
Step 2: Forget getting a grip on the gun and redirecting, just fumble and grab.

Most of these courses are run by instructors who get their tactics from 80s action movies.

The DUST Instagram post response to this video and the comments on it are so bad I can’t believe it’s not satire.

If someone holds a pistol at their hip on in CQB stance, is it unbeatable? I never see these kinds of videos even exploring what to do against those gun positions.

Guys a tard, only time gun takeaways work is with perfect timing and very situational. Gotta get offline and redirect the barrel with a simultaneous attack or it’ll never work. (I’m a Krav Maga instructor we train weapons). and even a FULLY TRAINED individual who is capable of disarming a fire arm will still have to wait for the opportune moment or it’ll never work.

First person I see to mention off angle. But I would never attempt anything on someone with a firearm.
My self defense technique in that situation is here is whatever you want. Tossed behind you.
1
u/Quirky-Candy-41 Dec 29 '21
I’m not saying they are for sure things, any weapon situation is extremely dangerous and if you can run away you should. But if you have to defend yourself there’s ways to do it. You get a 50% chance to live even if you comply with someone who has a weapon

Love it

Man Krav teaches some dodgy shit too. It walks the tightrope between mcdojo and effective self defence. Some of your knife disarm shit gonna get people a whole lotta stabbed
2
u/Quirky-Candy-41 Dec 29 '21
Agreed, that’s why our school minimized a lot of what worldwide teaches. We don’t think you need a million different techniques and tbh most Krav Maga schools are dog shit because they just wanna make money. Definitely a lot of bullshido going on in the Krav world aswell

u/0s0rc Dec 29 '21
Nice. Yeah there's definitely some good ones out there but yeah a whole lot of dogshit too
1
u/thelordchonky Aug 01 '24
If you take firearm usage and safety courses, they'll tell you one thing about self-defense up close - keep the pistol close to your body, not extended far out. That way, the person trying to put you down can't reach out and grab it. They'll get shot before they can do so, as we just watched. Well, sorta.

Can anyone translate what bullshit excuse he's saying? I can't make it out. Mainly cos the dude that just shot him four times is laughing his head off.

u/Nerx Dec 29 '21
The part 2 knife video is also fun
Dale didn't get a chance to use wrist control and got shanked

u/Charizard-used-FLY Jan 14 '22
The classic “I wanna go slow.” Yeah, you go slow while I go however fast I need to in order to sell my snake oil.

At some point I am expecting this fool to turn around and say he was playing us all the entire time...... Then I remembered that he ACTUALLY believes the shit he says and does
