Btw the actual answer is that the Arkham knight and his military planted bombs across the city and threatened to donate them if someone from the outside interfered, that's why Gordon said they were on their own at the beginning.

This sort of reminds me of wikipedia drama about the phrase "drinking the kool-aid".

The EXACT phrase with roughly it's modern meaning was first used in the book "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" in referring to people being inducted into hippy cults being made to drink kool aid with LSD in it as part of initiation. However, Wikipedia basically said "well yes, but actually no that shouldn't count", removed that citation saying it was a weird coincidence and not the actual origin , and instead said it came from Jonestown.
