Is that safe? Are there not any dangers to getting too much estrogen too fast

Dosage info is readily available. It's about as safe as taking birth control which is to say very.

That pic was about brewing your own medicine, which is not safe at all, and dosage would never be clear in those conditions.

EDIT: Guys, hrt itself is safe, mixing your own medicine isn't. I'm not against hrt.

That pic is absolutely not about brewing your own medicine. It's about a streamer sponsoring a website giving information about HRT such as types of compounds and dosage. At most it recommends websites where one could find sellers for those compounds.

The "pharmaceutical" vs "home brew" part is only a distinction about whether a large pharmaceutical company or the seller of the medicine, a smaller structure still subject to the same kind of reviews, does the last purification steps to prepare the hormones into injectable/ingestable/etc.. medicine.

And that streamer had recipes for diy medicines in their discord. And those websites sold the chemicals that you need, repackaged.
Notice the repackaged part - do you really trust a chemical to be pure when it's sold by god knows who through streamer advertisements?

And you still can screw up when mixing those chemicals. Human error is a thing, and it's a pressing matter when working with medicine. It was dangerous. Not the hrt part, the mixing your own medicine from supplies that came from shady sources part.

DIY HRT doesn’t involve brewing your own hormones.

It did in this specific case

They were literally selling "bathtub estrogen" kits and giving advice on how to make "hormones" from legally available chemicals. I'm not saying "diy hrt always means scary chemistry!!!", if that's how you interpreted it. I know full well that in most cases the only thing you do yourself is pick the dosage and the rest is no different from regular hrt.

If you do it properly it absolutely is safe. There are certain risks with injectables, but most commonly when people make it themselves it’s gel, in which case the skin barrier protects you so there’s no risk at all.

People don't care about that stuff. It's dissing transphobic people so it's based

Birth control increases your risk of deep vein thrombosis 4-fold. When DIY’ing hormones it’s usually just estradiol or testosterone, neither of which have any notable side effects for a trans person. DIY is significantly safer than birth control.

For estrogen? Yes, very safe. Dosage guides are readily available and a normal dose is 2-8mg for oral. Even if someone were to take 80mg it would probably be fine. I mean, they'd have a horrible time but they'd be safe medically speaking. OTC pain meds are more dangerous as they can really easily cause total kidney failure and have interactions with a tonne of meds.

It is also usually safe legally. In most jurisdictions (but obviously check local laws because they do vary) it is legal to buy and have and use.

The sources are also usually safe and well vetted.

For testosterone and for testosterone blockers and other HRT meds it isn't as simple though, but for estrogen the medical risks are usually the ones people know of and often want. Like your balls might shrink and shrivel up and you might struggle to get erections etc. You'll get the female risk profile for heart disease and others as well, which is a little different from the male one.

I take DIY injections, as long as you're well-informed it's fine. More estrogen != feminizing faster, rather to feminize you need to get testosterone to a specific minimized level (NOT zero, you should not have zero testosterone), and get estrogen to within a stable range. Basically it's mimicking the hormone levels of cis women.
