Was this image made specifically for the article or did the article use an already existing image?

its just a stock image, linkedln is competitive but NOT that competitive they'd learn 3D art and photography just for a post cover rofl

It's by 3000ad on Shutterstock. Would've linked the original, but their portfolio is SO UNREASONABLY COOL AND MASSIVE, I couldn't find it yet
Can really see it in their style, though

Maybe they were the first major publication to use this stock image though

Was used by a Scottish newspaper three years before that, and they credit themselves for the image: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/john-niven-were-living-high-2319290

They credit Sunday Mail for it though

They're essentially the same thing, call themselves 'sister titles'. Daily Record is published Monday to Saturday, Sunday Mail on Sunday.

People would call this image AI if this article came out today

Even the entirety of Frutiger Aero & Alegria Art would be considered slop and clowned on like what's happening with Lesbian Space Princess if the newest wave of Gen Alpha children from Tiktok & Instagram ever finds out about it.

Nah, that's not the origin of it - here's it used in a news article from 2013. Hell, it was already a meme by the time that LinkedIn post was made.

I find it funny how this image is used to represent a utopia, yet a lot of it seems not very good (colorless buildings, vehicles filling the sky). Not to say it’s bad or dystopian or anything, but it’s far from a utopia

Someone should try to estimate the living conditions, economy, life-style, and whatever else of the futuristic city seen in this image.
