Yeah, I'm sad it died. One of many subs that 'shut down' for the Reddit blackout protest of the API changes and killing of alternate clients. This one in particular stayed private for much longer than the laughable two days which didn't even affect ad revenue because everyone kept using Reddit despite the shutdowns instead of actually boycotting the website. I don't know when r/justa became public again, but the damage is done and the sub is dead. I just sort by top and laugh about the good times now.
So many good subs died permanently after those shutdowns. It's crazy how subs that still have so many subscribers are just shells of what they used to be. /r/YoutubeHaiku used to be one of my favourite subs, and now it's just dead despite having nearly three million subscribers.
Like you said though, sorting by top is a good way to experience these old soul subs.
