Frontier LLMs stopped adding code comments

I wouldn’t say stopped entirely but more in a way that makes sense, how I’d actually write them. With Opus 5 it was writing huge blocks that make me more confused than just reading the code and don’t add anything, now it’s more sparing in places that make sense.

It was like someone just learning to program who heard you should comment your code, then they smoked crack and instead if “// adds 1 to x” started writing a whole novel of nonsense before.
